In 2 Peter 2:1 we are told there will be false teachers among us, other verses say 'wolves' that will try to deceive us. We need to know why we believe what we believe, not so we can beat each other over the head with it, but so we are not deceived. Truth matters eternally.

Well to be honest you answered your own question. People argue to prove themselves right. They over look the truth to find what they want to here and what makes them happy. Now judging what is wrong or right is going to be needed. You can't have some one saying that its ok to break the commandments when we know you are not supposed to. But it should be done in a civilized manor. The Bible should be the final say so, not something a guy wrote with out scripture. Or twisting scripture. there is only one interpretation of the Bible. Believe it or not most Christian's don't know it. Find what right and ask God for has guidance. Hoped this helped.

Arguing over doctrines and such is ridiculous and only Satan's method of sowing discord among God's children. God does not want us to argue over these things. But that does not mean that church doctrines aren't important. I think that each and every individual should earnestly search the Bible for themselves for the truth, and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance in their study, so that each person might know the truth. However, when we find out something we should be doing that is right, it is not right to try to force this belief on other people, for that is following Satan's plan. The Bible says over and over again to let people know these things and point out what they are doing wrong in a gentle, loving, non-offensive way. Be patient, and only do what Jesus would do. For example, I believe that Saturday is the Sabbath and that we should keep the Sabbath as we are commanded to in the Bible. But you probably don't believe that, and I shouldn't condemn you to hell for not believing that. What I should do is let you know what I have learned and discovered in a loving way, and not with anger and self-righteousness, as Satan would want me to. Then I should leave the rest to God, for we cannot change people's hearts, only God can. It's God's job to convict, we are only His helpers.
This is my opinion, hope it makes sense! God Bless!

That is not the way true Christians are to behave.
1Corinth. 1:10 We are all to speak in agreement, not to have divisions among us so we may be fitly united inthe same mind and same line of thought.
Philip. 1:9 We shoulld let love abound coming from accurate knowledge and full discernment.
Colossians 3:12-17 We should clothe ourselves (surround ourselves closely) with compassion, lowliness of mind, long suffering, continue putting up with one another, forgive freely, above all love, the peace of Christ. This is so we may be one body.
Clearly, this is how true Christians are. Now you have to ask yourself, "Does this religion worship in the way God approves?"

But god wants you to be humble in the right way.
Get it wrong and you are toast along with the Muslims, Jews, Hindus, atheists, Catholics ,etc.
But God loves all the people he tortures for the rest of eternity.
At least that is the way that many Christians seem to think. And Jews, and Muslims, and . . . .

Hmmmm. Just sounds like an awsome case of mutiny within the ranks of the church to me.
