Be careful not to confuse Religion with a personal relationship with God. The difference is Huge. Religion is the label but the relationship empowers, inspires hope, imparts healing the list is endless. Any Christian with a genuine relationship with Christ will tell you that they would be something akin to miserable without it.

I'm leading a normal and wholesome life right now. Why does religion need to be gone for that to happen? I'm happier than I was before I became a Christian and feel like my life has a purpose. In fact, if you take that away, I have no reason to live and I'll be dead. So, I guess the answer is no to your question.

OK I'm a Christian and this is direct. Freud was wrong. There is no wholesome life without Christ.
"Free from Religion" is a strange phrase: Christianity is freedom at its best.
What is "normal"?
I'm sorry if you have met people who are poor representatives of Christ. We're only human.

It's the truth that sets you free, not Freud. Once you know God's truth, you are free from worldly concerns such as what Freud thought or anyone else for that matter. We live as normal [what's normal?] a life as possible, and certainly try to be wholesome.

Sigmund Freud also stated that the human being was purely sexually driven. When in reality the human being is a rational being able to be much more than that. Carl Rogers stated that humans are interelational and I tend to believe this aspect better.
Religion is freedom, freedom to choose between what is right and wrong and chosing right. Freedom to love with no bounds, love to the extent of loving someone other than yourself more than yourself. That is what religion is, so it is not tying or binding, it is FREEDOM.

Hmm...NO!
I dont even want to think about how un happy I would be if I didnt have Jesus.
Dude...thats like crazy to think about! He is my whole life.

I really dont think that " being free" from it is a good description. I am free...but I chose to live my life for Jesus because of the joy he gives me and that he died for me.
