Follow the Christ!" is the theme of next weekend's annual Jehovah's Witness District Convention .

More than 7,500 Jehovah's Witnesses from Utah, Southeast Idaho and Western Wyoming are expected to attend the three-day English event, which begins Friday, June 29, and continues through Sunday, July 1.
Some 5,000 Spanish-speaking Witnesses are expected to converge at the Dee Events Center a week later. Both meetings will have identical themes and organization. Only the language and speakers will change.
The two conventions are among more than 282 similar conventions to be held in the United States this year.
All meetings are free and open to the public. No collections will be taken.

Facts:
Dinosaurs walked this earth; we know this because their bones were found.

Whats in the bible is true. We know this because there have been evidence on the earth to prove it. I know this because I am a Christan and believe.

Also they say, you have to go "through" Jesus to get to God.What does that mean to "go through Jesus."
Please don't just quote the 4 spiritual laws of salvation. I've read it and heard it a million times. Christians with a brain who can talk to someone outside their own choir please answer

But of course logic to one isn't logical to another. So people can both use logic and come up with opposite answers to the same question. Can someone suggest something besides logic for solving the problem?

You can drown in your formless side - your thoughts and emotions, and then look into the mirror, or pinch yourself and wonder what the heck your flesh is. It's a trap and a vehicle atthe same time, but is it even real?

I have a big dilemma.I've been interested in converting to be catholic. My mom is baptist and so is my dad. Well I'm having second thoughts about becoming Catholic because of Confession and a few other things. I believe that you should be able to talk to GOD and GOD alone when you are talking about your sins. I feel very wrong when I must confess to a preist. I told one of the sisters about this and she gave me her view. In doing so she told me that GOD isn't really there in a baptist church like in the catholic church because of the holy Sacrament. Then I felt like Santa Maria wanted me to stay when we in mass. They said that if you don't confess all your sins in confession you will not go heaven. I feel uncomfortable. I don't know what to think, now I'm leaning more towards being Baptist again but I'm scared that in doing so I won't go to heaven. I always was taught that if you tell god of your sins, and you make a vow not to do them again and baptized then you'd be free of sin. HELP

I rarely go out to eat now because of this rule. The service industry is getting more arrogant and snobby these days. A tip is supposed to exactly what it is..A TIP! If the waiter does a good job and does something "extra" ordinary than you tip them. WTF is up with this mandatory tipping. If you're a waiter and don't like what I have to say than GET A DIFFERENT JOB!

The way I see it, it's your JOB to take our orders and bring them to the customers. Why should I pay you on top of what you're being paid from your employer? I don't tip firefighter for doing their jobs and I don't tip salesman that help me with the sale. So what make waiters special? And please don't give me that jargon about how you make a living off of tips.

Oxford biologist Richard Dawkins writes,
"Biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearance of having been designed for a purpose."

Likewise, Nobel laureate Francis Crick writes,
"Biologists must constantly keep in mind that what they see was not designed, but rather evolved."

Both see the "appearance of design" - but both are atheists.
Wouldn't it be more logical to admit that there is a designer?

Sure, you can "prove" it with the Bible....so, is the Bible real? I'm not saying it isn't, but how do you KNOW? I say little prayers all day long for all sorts of reasons, but I know - and if God is real, HE knows too - that in the back of my mind, after the "amen" I think "if you're really there." I'm not a kid - I'm 56 - and still I'm wondering. Is there any real proof?

I know it was an honest mistake but I've seen it on here before where someone referred to his Vietnamese gf as 'Oriental'. K, so just FYI, the term is ASIAN! If you are saying "Oriental" you should be referring to a person that is actually a citizen of the ORIENT OF CHINA! Anyone else, the PC term is ASIAN or their actual nationality, ie: Vietnamese, Japanese, Koren, etc. I'm not attacking anyone, just savin ya from getting chewed out if you use the term incorrectly and offend someone. K? You don't have to "answer" this, it's not a question, but you're welcome to reply if need be. Meanies need not apply!

Can a Voodoo Doll be used if the person doesn't get an object from you? A guy my best friend knows was trying to get my best friend out of under his skin. He liked her too much and he was married she was driving him crazy. I think her attention just got to him. So he took a Voodoo Doll and hung it up in his cubicle with something she gave him and attached it to the doll. Well it didn't work out and he took it down one day. Before he took it down, his cubemate made fun of the Voodoo Doll and was shooting rubber bands at it. Then he was emailing and calling me making fun of it. I have always liked him and he knows it. We are both married and so some reason the attraction has really gotten hot between us. Could the energy of him making fun of that doll made the attraction more than it should have been between us. My friend and the other one have become very good friends since he took the doll down. Is it possible to affect someone without an object from them?

I really cant get over this. Some people I used to know sent me an email that they are coming to town and since we hadnt met for some years they were looking forward to meeting me and my family. I said fine, lets have lunch Saturday. They said not possible. Sunday? Nope. Finally we fix for next thursday. Most inconvenient for me as I got to take time off work but okay. I invite others as well. Then they call and cancel thursday. Fool that I am I ask if some other day is okay. Nope. So I say well enjoy your holiday here, seems like we wont be able to meet up this time, lets leave it for next. Now they are telling mutual friends I am sensitive and quick to take offence. How would you react?

and when i say God i meant the God who sent Jesus:

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.John 7:16

Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.John 7:28

Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me John 7:33

Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. John 8:42

so dear christians, when will you praise God (the one who sent him) more than you praise Jesus? when will you thank God more than you thank Jesus?

Since we are made in God's image, both male and female (Genesis 1:27), wouldn't that make your God the Father a little weird looking at best and downright perverse at worst? And if God the Father has a body, then wouldn't that make the virgin Mary, not really a virgin when she conceived because God the Father seduced her? Or else God the Father wouldn't be the father of Jesus Christ.

My understanding of being made in God's image is that He has certain qualities in Him that men and women have. Men show parts of God's image and women show the other parts, when we are not sinning.
