I really cant get over this. Some people I used to know sent me an email that they are coming to town and since we hadnt met for some years they were looking forward to meeting me and my family. I said fine, lets have lunch Saturday. They said not possible. Sunday? Nope. Finally we fix for next thursday. Most inconvenient for me as I got to take time off work but okay. I invite others as well. Then they call and cancel thursday. Fool that I am I ask if some other day is okay. Nope. So I say well enjoy your holiday here, seems like we wont be able to meet up this time, lets leave it for next. Now they are telling mutual friends I am sensitive and quick to take offence. How would you react?

I think you made every effort to see them. They were very rude to cancel. If they ever come to town again in the future, I think I would be very busy.

I wouldn't worry about what they say to your other friends. If your friends say anything to you, I would tell them what happened, and then forget about it.

forgive but don't forget. if mutual friends ask you can always explain. then you can know who your real friends are. you can still have an enjoyable time with the others you invited.
just try look for the positives or it might get you down
