For example:

You have recieved a promotion at work, you make better money, however, the fear of losing this better job is more-so than the fear of losing it before. Fear is a negative emotion brought on by this positive situation.

You have been fired from your job, you are stressed and frightful of how to make ends meet. You begin searching for other jobs and find a much better one than the one you had previously. The negative situation caused motivation in your seeking other employment and resulted in a better job. The initial motivation was inspired by a negative situation.

Do you agree with this logic?

I want to ask a question to the christians in the US. Do you find living there in the US is very hard, dealing with people. Do you find the rudest people Americans? I live in Australia and find most of the people here easy going. The majority of the rude people that get on here are Americans, why is that? I want to hear from people who do not live in the US and are not American to ask you if you have been to the US and what did you think? I have been 3 times and found them to be so proud and arogant They should all become actors and actress. The US has even aproved gay marrages. How sick. Not saying all Americans are horrible, as there are some very nice ones. Maybe it is the ones that get on here and mock other religions. Has America ever wounderd why they get the most devistating earthquakes and mudslides in the world?

I don't want to seem disrespectful in this question, or insult the Wicca/Pagan beliefs at all. With that said, why is it that the atheists, when arguing from a logical/rational standpoint, always attack the Christian faith but for the large part never say anything about Wicca/Pagan which believes when its concepts are just as supernatural (if not more) than Christians? Is it because the Christians are usually more judgmental and spiteful?

Once again, no disrespect intended, I am just wondering because a lot of the atheists arguments stemming from logic could be leved at the Pagans as well as the Christians, but they hardly are.

Thanks.

Why do they hardly mention in textbooks that the leader of the tribes actually sold people in their tribe to the white people? Why is this always shoved under the rug?

Also, while coming to America as a slave is not humane or right at all, why do people rarely consider that if Africans had never come to America as slaves then their descendants would have to live in AIDS and disease ravaged Africa?

I was promoted recently and my boss is forgetful. He forgot my bday and ended up running out and getting me a box of stale donuts. I don't eat donuts :( Of course I ate one, smiled and said thanks. He went on a cruise and didn't bring anything back. I know he appreciates me because he verbally tells me daily what a great job I did. Also, I got the promotion over all the other girls he interviewed and people in our office after only working here 4 months.

Today, it is another girls bday and her boss (different than mine) brought her in a cute gift bag and in it was a VERY cute coach bag. Very thoughtful, since she only uses coach bags and not the standard purse. He went on the same cruise as my boss and brought her back some kind of Rum Cake thing, thoughful. I totally like this girl, she's way cool and fun to work with, so I have nothing against her.
I can't help but feel somewhat jealous... I know, it's not right to feel that way... but I do. :( Maybe he just doesn't know me yet?

An abstract from the article:

The New York Times , March 31, 2006

"Long-Awaited Medical Study Questions the Power of Prayer
By BENEDICT CAREY
Prayers offered by strangers had no effect on the recovery of people who were undergoing heart surgery, a large and long-awaited study has found.

And patients who knew they were being prayed for had a higher rate of post-operative complications like abnormal heart rhythms, perhaps because of the expectations the prayers created, the researchers suggested.

Because it is the most scientifically rigorous investigation of whether prayer can heal illness, the study, begun almost a decade ago and involving more than 1,800 patients, has for years been the subject of speculation.

The question has been a contentious one among researchers. Proponents have argued that prayer is perhaps the most deeply human response to disease, and that it may relieve suffering by some mechanism that is not yet understood. ..."

So, I was reading on YA this morning and I found a post that stated that Jesus never said Hate the sin, but love the sinner. I agree, he didn't say that. HE LIVED IT.
He was consistantly telling people to turn away from their sinful ways. He even got so angry about it at one point that he tore up a market place. At the same time He loved those people so much that he was willing to give up his life for them.

When an Atheist says that Atheism isn't a belief system, how can you back that up? Even believing in nothing is believing in something.

Please, none of your typical smart aleck comments that avoid the question, I would like some serious answers, please.

That's right, America!! It is too late to pray for the good of the USA!!

The Westboro Baptist Church used to pray for the good of America, knowing that God's blessings are mighty and His hand could be stayed from punishing this wicked nation, just as He stayed His hand from punishing Nineveh. America chose to spit in the face of their Creator, instead of heeding WBC's warnings, and now it is too late to pray for this nation.

remove your indoctrinated notions and just think a minute for yourself. if you had no conception of what god is from a religion, what then would he/she/it be?

ok... so the bible tells us that as human beings we are sinners, and thus fall short of the glory originally intended for us in the beginning. however, as humans, or any other living creature for that matter, although we do have free will, we were never given the choice to be born.

that being the case, it was not my fault that i was born and thus not my fault that i am a sinner. why should i have to repent for something i had no control over? what it essentially boils down to is me having to repent for something that god did.

what say you?
