me I mean he is so loving he watches little children get raped, murdered, and starve and just chills up there and doesn't help. He is such a forgiving and loving god he killed that first baby of people who didn't believe in him. Also this is the best part about this all loving most forgiving god that if you don't kneel down and worship him he sends you to this great hot place with all this crazy fire. Now come on who wouldn't want to believe in this guy.

I believe in God because, most of all, He has revealed Himself in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. In their book "Answers to Tough Questions Skeptics Ask About the Christian Faith," Josh McDowell and Don Stewart state the following: "Among the religious leaders who have attained a large following throughout history, Jesus Christ is unique in the fact that He alone claimed to be God in human flesh ... The claims of Christ are many and varied. He said that He existed before Abraham (John 8:58), and that He was equal with the Father (John 5:17-18). Jesus claimed the ability to forgive sins (Mark 2:5-7), which the Bible teaches was something that God alone could do (Isaiah 43:25).

"The New Testament equated Jesus as the creator of the universe (John 1:3), and that He is the one who holds everything together (Colossians 1:17). The apostle Paul says that God was manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16, KJV), and John the evangelist says that 'the Word was God' (John 1:1). The united testimony of Jesus and the writers of the New Testament is that He was more than mere man; He was God ...

"Yes, Jesus claimed to be God. Why should anyone believe it? After all, merely claiming to be something does not make it true. Where's the evidence that Jesus is God?

"The Bible gives various reasons, including miracles and fulfilled prophecy, that are intended to convince us that Jesus is the one whom He said He was (John 20:30-31). The main reason, or the sign which Jesus himself said would demonstrate that He was the Son of God, was His resurrection from the dead."

Most importantly, countless people for almost 2000 years have discovered that Jesus Christ alone can meet the deepest longings and needs of the human heart. He can do this because He was God in human form, and He was raised from the dead by the power of God. He is alive today, and He wants to enter your life right now. Do not be blinded by your own ideas or the ideas of others regarding religious truth. Look at Christ, and when you do you will realize that in Christ alone "are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3).

I believe in God because God made Himself known to me.

It's kind of hard to explain, but I was a complete atheist for my whole life. And then at one point, I suddenly found myself realizing that God was very, very, real. It was not unlike walking into a party and seeing somebody you've never seen before across the room, and just KNOWING that you have to go meet that person. You had no idea that person existed before that moment, and now that you do, your whole life will never be the same again.

I do. I have always believe God was real just didnt know why I thought that. Didnt go to church much so it wasnt from a church background. It wasnt till March 4, 1999 that I truly began to understand God. He first believe in me before I was even a thought in my mothers and fathers mind. God knew I would be born to them and he gave me an awareness of him even when I was young. God believeing in me lead me to March 4 when God sought me out and showed me I was a sinner on my way to hell if I didnt change my ways. God loved me enough to send his Son to die for me and to save me is why I love him and believe in Him.

I do. I have many reasons, but mainly it is due to the fact that I am awed by my world around me, and I cannot conceive its beauty without believing that a higher intelligence must have wanted it to be this way. Also, there are so many people concerned with the issue of His existence. Theists *and* many atheists. Why else is it such a driving issue than if He truly does exist and wants us to know it?
