That's right, America!! It is too late to pray for the good of the USA!!

The Westboro Baptist Church used to pray for the good of America, knowing that God's blessings are mighty and His hand could be stayed from punishing this wicked nation, just as He stayed His hand from punishing Nineveh. America chose to spit in the face of their Creator, instead of heeding WBC's warnings, and now it is too late to pray for this nation.

this is some of what they have on their webpage but it all seems to be the same to me is it just me or they preaching hate not love?

Hey Beechtree, they are rednecks.

A bad breed of rednecks.

Actually there is a phenomenon that seems to occur in some so-called converts. Sometimes if they were the worst sinners in the world and they "find God", they actually do see the errors of their ways and then, for some reason, are misguided into thinking it is their sole purpose in life to rid the world of evil. It is a drastic form of a lesser syndrome whereby people think they have to earn God's free grace by going around doing good when it is the other way around----we do good because we have already recieved God's grace.

So if you have a nut case who has an even bigger extended family of nuts and they all say they have a mission "from God" then you are going to get some crazy things happening including the doom and gloom preaching and condemnation.

In short, what they are doing is based on an unresolved hate for the world that they blame screwed up their lives before and now it is time to exact revenge "in the name of God". Basically, they have never come to grips with their own guilt. Instead of letting it go and actually becoming the loving and forgiving people God wants them to be, they think God needs their help to strike back at the evil around them(of course they get to define what evil is and new definitons are added each day as more and more people come against them)

It will eventually all die out, they always do but I feel so sorry for all the people they hurt along the way, especially those hurting families trying to bury their loved ones.

I think as many people as possible ought to go to their website and send one message: We are praying for you.

Saw the Keith Allen documentary last night, he exposed the Phelps woman as a SINNER, she had a child out of wedlock, then again they believe in the word of the bible as the word of God, from what I hear the Bible was written by MEN not God.
They are simply peddlers of hate, nothing more, I am actually surprised that they havent been killed by some of the USAs finest rednecks or the gays they hate so much. Anyway why are they so offended by an act that they are not involved in?

'And Jesus set out on a tour of all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom and curing every sort of disease and every sort of infirmity.  On seeing the crowds he felt pity for them, because they were skinned and thrown about like sheep without a shepherd'. Matthew 9:35-37.
'And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come'. Matthew 24:14
Do you notice the theme that ran through Jesus' preaching work and that of genuine preachers today? GOOD NEWS! They will never attract people.

Also they seem to forget who Jesus chose to associate with..Mary Magdalene for example, who he had to expel demons from. Luke 8:1-3.
Also luke 5:30-32..At this the Pharisees and their scribes began murmuring to his disciples, saying: “Why is it YOU eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”  In reply Jesus said to them: “Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but those who are ailing do.  I have come to call, not righteous persons, but sinners to repentance.”
Jesus' preaching attracted people and as genuine christians today should follow in his footsteps(1 peter 2:21) , they seem to be missing the point.

Despite their actions making me sick to my stomach for over a decade, one day I simply decided to stop feeling so incensed and appalled by them. The minute I did so, I took away their power to affect me and it's allowed me to view them in a different light.

Previously, I'd regarded them as evil and hate-spewing. When I stopped being offended by them, they suddenly became quite laughable and pitiful. The fact that their beliefs are glaringly contradictory and that none of the Phelps family seem to be articulate enough to be questioned on the subject without resembling a malfunctioning robot from Star Trek going into meltdown - "Hell! Fags! 911! Fags! Hell!" - only makes them more pathetic and cartoony.

I thought the Louis Theroux documentary about them was a fascinating insight. It was weird, because I found Phelps' daughter almost likeable. Ultimately, however, they were undoubtedly held prisoner by their own beliefs... and for what?

What they fail to realise is that I only *care* about my own beliefs. Theirs (or anyone elses) do not matter to me and never will. No matter how many times they (or anyone else) tell(s) me I'm hellbound... no matter how convinced they are or how convincing they sound... that is something I simply don't believe to be the case, which is all that matters to me.

With that attitude, their actions have no consequence.

They are preaching Hate! All I can say is that we all have to face the Lord at some time and I am glad I am not a member in that farce of a religion. I don't think God is very happy with them right now. As Christians we are to show it through love and caring not through hate for anyone. I think they forgot "What would Jesus do? "
He loved everyone and showed it, to the point of going to the Cross for us. I think they are in BIG trouble for this kind of thing.
All we can do is pray for them that they someday get the truth.

defiantly preaching hate. did you see keith allens program last night? i was disgusted at the way they live their lives. if turning up and heckling dead soldiers funerals isn't bad enough, then telling your kids that "god hates fags" is just plain abuse. them kids will (and the older ones have) grow up to hate everyone and everything! they are also hypocritical, seeing as on of them is "illegitimate". i have no religion and couldn't really care weather your married or not when you have a baby, but surely they are wrong to preach that is wrong ! i come from a religious background and have nothing against people who wish to follow a god, however, its idiots like them that are giving religion (christianity) a bad name. i am all for free speech and the right to do what you want (as long as it doesn't hurt anyone) but think that organisations like theirs should be shut down for preaching hate. if i was to start preaching, for instance, nazi ideals i would be stopped immediately ( and should be).

I think they are an art movement thriving on sensation and media attention...they contribute nothing worthwhile and they $h!t on everything, it's not even original.
They should have an anti-social restraint order placed upon them by now if there was any justice, it would be a kindness to the whole Phelps family if they were prevented from doing any more of this activity.

The WBC is a Christian Church that has forgotten the scriptures that teach of God's love and grace. The things that are wrong with our nation are indeed wrong. Their legalistic views put-off most people, even other Christians. But they love Jesus Christ, and love God's Word, and are willing to be persecuted for the sake of righteousness.

I don't personally agree with their methods, but I sure wish more Americans had zeal for righteousness instead of this mambie-pambie adherence to political correctness.

Something is truly wrong there.
They clearly haven't thought everything out, their diction shows that.
Unfortunately, in this country, the freedom of religion comes as a double edged sword. We cannot stop them from making themselves into what they are, and I'm afraid it will create some sort of backlash on all of us that think differently.

They may be unpleasant but they are doing less damage than the politicians and war-mongers of this world.

I doubt anyone at all acts on their words, so the only negativity is coming from all these shocked reactions to their message, jsut focus your attention on something better
