True? This was stated by "Dan H". Those who consider themselves critical of the Bible...have you read it?

(Quoted in remarks at Bob Jones University commencement in 1999, when he was then a U.S. Senator from Missouri)

Why do government officials profess to honor "separation of church and state" but time after time reveal their true intentions and beliefs?

President Bush (Snr), saying faith has fostered democratic change around the world, told the National Religious Broadcasters yesterday that 'one cannot be America's president without a belief in God.'
— San Francisco Chronicle, 1/30/1990

No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.
- Former U.S. President George H. W. Bush, 8/27/1987

The Bible is the authoritative Word of God and contains all truth.
— Pres. Bill Clinton, at a prayer breakfast

I ask you this whole week to pray for me and pray for the members of Congress; ask us not to turn away from our ministry. Our ministry is to do the work of God here on earth

Well, if he did, then there's your proof: Jesus was okay with queers.

Besides, the term "fruits" back then did not have a pejorative meaning as it does now.

So: all you church people, you can stop with the homo bashing, for Jesus said "By their fruits ye shall know them" -- that is, if he meant it in a nice way. And I think he did.

(And don't be coming on here calling me an idiot. That ain't nice.)

Are they so unhappy with their life here on earth, that they can't wait for it to be over...is this just a step from suicide?

Don't you think God will be unhappy that you did not appreciate the world he has given you...the beauty in his creations, the kindness in his people, the possibilities that exist? Sure, there are bad things...but, as a Christian, shouldn't you be full of joy and focus on the good..of which there is a lot too.

Why are fundamentalists such sad, frustrated people...is this of God?

in Ampsterdam where they are legal, the part of town drugs and prostituion are legal are safe to walk through at night. Being that laws to stop them don't work, and crime runs rampant, shouldn't we make them legal so they can be controlled? is it right to make soceity more unsafe just because our beliefs are against such things?

Am I right about this?
If so why don't christians perform such tasks ( not literally but figuratively)
I'm not saying all christians are the same but the majority I have encountered act like I am less than them.

Just wondering?

extremely difficult life choice I'm going through.

choices...should I go to SVD to train? or stay in California to do it?

Going to SVD Divine Word College, a college where a male person goes to train for humanitarian works in the future, after graduation.

I know for sure by observance of others there, going to will open up new horizons for any individual. Additionally, I don't have to deal with environment factors such as: gas, money, job, the diffusion and usage of time; there in SVD, I can truely focus on developing my spirituality and intellect; I can reach new horizons and evolve ten and hundred folds...But part of me miss California, its people, its landscape and terrain, its seasonal rain, its falling of leaves in the autumn, its ocean side =(. What a dilemna.

A solution I can think for myself that satisfies both sides to a mutal compromise is...attending SVD to train and then, I can still travel back and forth or to any anywhere I chose or chosen for me. Opinions?

Going back to my childhood, every childhood contest I was involved with whether it was for school, sports, Boy Scouts, treated it as the "everyone's a winner" concept. Every kid was declared a prize and there was no "winners" and "losers".

Now the question is why bother having a competition where everyone will turn out the winner? In my younger adulthood now I don't necessarily agree with this because i feel it is good to show your kids that not everyone excels in everything that they do and to learn the concept of accepting defeat. If you win at everything you attempt you wouldn't know how to accept defeat as you get older, respectfully.

How do you other parents feel on the "everyone's a winner" thing being used?
