Yes, that is forgiveness.
IMO, "Ex's" are like dead bodies. The love that was once there is now dead and gone. Some (including myself) try to resurrect the dead love (ah, which we all know only God can resurrect); which is kinda like playing with a dead body (body being love). Some others feel the need to heal wounds after love battles; and it's here where bitterness dwells. Once you're over the need to talk out/ make good with/ have the last word is when you have forgiven and the poison of hate is lifted off your shoulders.

Hello and in the bible it talks about God's forgiveness as casting our sins in the depths of the sea, and this is a gift of God, forgiveness it is nothing one can muster on there own, it is something that is given as a result in walking with Jesus Christ in a saving relationship, but if someone has been known to for example do you harm, then don't go around them anymore, sure forgiveness is something God requires of His followers, but consequences are something else, for example one can forgive someone for doing a crime but that person might still face legal action as a result, but again true forgiveness in its purest form is a gift and must be prayed for to really have, God bless.

No,forgiveness involves the idea of someone who has offended being redeemed - reaccepted - by the offended party. These are persons you have dismissed from your life. This is not to say that you being unforgiving; merely that the concept of forgiveness does not apply to the circumstances you cite. I would not worry myself about it . You are comfortable with your resolution of the matter. So be it.

forgiving implies a separateness and a superiority...what i think you are experiencing is more along the lines of a zen acceptance...things are the way they are, people do the things they do, and since we are all part of a far greater whole, the best we can do is accept...

well it doesn't sound like you hate them. forgiveness is an act of love. Loving yourself, and understanding that we're all in this together.

we have to forgive us as god has forgiven us. so ask god to release you from bondage and he will take that spirit of unforgiveness away from you
