I am a recent Roman Catholic convert. Before I was an athiest but a person interested in religion and Faith although I never practiced or really believed in the existance of a Deity! Well but to my question during my time as an Athiest I always believed that Chatolics (Christians), Jewish, and Muslims all have the same God the Father! Only with different names! Like the Jewish Faith Called YHVW (I think not 100% sure you tell me), Muslims is Allah, and well Chatolic (Christians) have God the Father also called YHVW! Only difference to me was that they, I don't know if you can say "evolved" into what they are now! Not 100% sure but I think all of them have Abraham as a common Prophet or as an origin to their Faith, no!? Well to my question can you say that all three religions believe in the same God just different names or manifestations?

I belonged for many years to a religion that I ultimately found to be false and corrupt. It had presented me with "hope for the future." When I realized that they had lied and continued to lie, my first thought was "I've just got to quit them."

Some of them asked me where I would go. My only answer was "out of THERE!"

Not having every single possible question of the universe already answered for me in print and forcibly doctrinized is not a bad thing. I can allow myself many teachers... or none.

My first hope is realized: I exist and am nurtured by whatever put me here and sustains me. My "hope" is that living in harmony with that will lead me where I need to go and show me what I need to be shown.

I don't think I am without hope. I am without false hope. Don't you think that's a good choice?

I would really like to hear from people from a variety of religions on this, I would like to compare their answers.

I'm sure there will be plenty of Christians answering, but PLEASE answer if you are Hindu, or Buddhist, or something even more rare here, like a Shinto, Taoist, or Ba'hai! I would definitely like a couple of answers from Muslims too. (Getting some answers from people in native-religions, like Native-American or African, would be great too).

As for anyone tempted to say something like "You can't know, you have to just have faith", please tell me how you think you know which religion you should "just have faith" in.

How did you go about deciding to be part of the faith you are in? Did you just choose to believe in the first religion that came along, or did you look at other religions?

So, my friends loves to debate with people. She has her own set of opinions and that's fine, but she never backs down. The problem is that she'll pick the most deeply held beliefs someone has and attack them. For example, we have a friend who is deeply religious and she constantly starts an argument with her about why there is no God or how we are all going to hell if there is one. Anyways, she's lost a lot of friends this way. I would like to tell her, but I have feeling we'll get into another debate. What would you do?

i have been wiccan for many years now, and a friend of mine has too. we were once a part of a coven, but when i got married and moved away, i became a solitary wiccan. i have practiced on my own for a while now. since i left i have had a run of bad luck, my husband lost his job, we lost our house, our car broke down, all within a short period of time. we moved back home and when i got in touch with my friend, we went out for drinks and after a few she told me she was so mad at me when i left her that she placed a curse on me with the help of another former friend. what do i do? I need to remove the curse. And before you say im crazy, im not. I take this very seriously. i dont want my former friend hurt, but i need to know a counter spell to lift the curse. i have looked all over and can't find anything

For anyone who is religous (i've had issues with my faith the last 10 years) explain to me how if there is a god, how he can take a 7 month old child away from his parents, sisters, grandparents, etc.? I use to go to church when i was a child ( 2-10) i went all the time. I loved it. But for some reason i stopped going through my tweens and teens and now that i'm almost 25 with 2 children and a husband i really want to give them a chance to learn all about God.
