Alcohol is the main cause of and the main excuse for gormless violence in the streets and also especially domestic violence. Alcohol kills brain cells and alters/distorts human judgement and decisions. Between class a drugs like cocaine and alcohol both these alters a persons behaviour pattern and yet smoking tobacco products have been treated with witch-hunts, humiliating smokers by saying they smell and making them look like nerds by standing outside. Smokers are also being blamed killing people, yet if you take drugs or drink alcohol you are accepted and treated nicely, is it me or is this really happening?

ISLAM - MUHAMMAD, only godly religion not named after the prophet. they dont even have the same meaning, that's 1 reason why i converted.

dont say islam is a bad religion, otherwise it wudnt be the fastest growing religion in the world. Muhammad Ali wasnt a bad guy, and Dave Chappelle is a moslim. they aint bad guys.

It has the following attributes of a religion:

It accepts something through faith (the non-existence of God).
It has its sacred scriptures and infallible figures (e.g. Richard Dawkins).
It is intolerant of dissent.
Its adherents are emotionally attached to their ideas.
It believes that by following its rules (or non-rules) one can be a better person.

Etc. etc.

By the way I'm not saying it's a religion. I'm just asking the question. And even if it is a religion, I'm not suggesting that's necessarily a bad thing.

Is our time on this planet nearing its climax. We are so smart now that we know the secret behind Gods most wondrous creation. (DNA) We have built weapons capable of wiping ourselves out in the blink of an eye and we have entire nations of people who are prepared to die to wipe out the western world. We are surrounded by all manners of evil and temptation from such an early age and bullying is now so rife that 3 children have taken their own lives in one village in Northern Ireland in a couple of months. If people are so cruel so young, how will we survive the next generation. If we dont nuke ourselves then we will damage the Earth and her resources beyond repair soon anyway.

I know the whole John 3:16 thing.

This 'eternal life' concept seems to be the main reason that most of you are Christians in the first place. You want to live forever, seated at God's holy buffet table after you die.

...but why? What is so appealing about living forever? For starters, there is absolutely no proof whatsoever of this concept. Furthermore, wouldn't you grow bored? You would eventually reach a point where you could attain all knowledge... and then what? What use does God have with you for an eternity?

I guess what I want to know is what is so appealing about existing forever after you die.

A question was asked that basically said that the govt should be able to dictate what people can preach at the pulpit. I stated that I didnt want fundies in my govt but that it meant my govt shouldnt be able to dictate what they said in their church and I got thumbs down.
Isnt it a bit hypocritical to dictate what can and cannot be preached about while at the same time attempting to keep church seperate from state?

There are many cases of Priests/Ministers/Pastors etc.converting to Judaism. (In fact, I personally know three such people). But conversion by a Rabbi to Christianity is extremely rare.

A good number of the Christian converts to Judaism come from those most educated regarding their faith and most familiar with scripture. On the other hand, Jewish converts to Christianity come almost exclusively from the jews that are the least educated regarding their faith, and the least familiar with scripture.

How do you explain this phenomenon?

I am talking about what aspect, what makes somebody cool?
The hip hop culture in the media is involved at spreading it around the globe but why would many people of other races think blacks are cool? What is cool about them?
Why are they considered cool by many and copied?
Why is it as soon as a black person does something it is considered cool to do it?
Is it their confidence and masculinity?
Why do they have influence?
Blacks also seem to be more charismatic, dominant, intimidating, confident and authoritative when they speak

Is it that they don’t give a **** what anyone thinks?
The way the walk and talk smooth?
A way to fit in?
why is the hiphop culture accepted by many of all races?

I have recently met the love of my life. He is always there for me when I need him, and we have alot of fun. I want this man to bbe my husband. I hope to one day adopt children with him.
My parents are very religious rural people- conservative, Christians. yet, if this man is to be my life partner they should know about it. I want to share my truth with them. I wish I had come out years before. But didn't. I don't want to break their hearts. Is my sharing with them selfish? Should I think about them?

P.S.- I'm 87 years old
