Matt. 11:2~14 "When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?" Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me." As John's disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: "What did you go out into the desert to see?... A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the one about whom it is written: " 'I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.' ... Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom ...is greater than he."
Hi, Shrugger! I was about to say a thing to your question, suddenly it closed; this is a follow up.

People are asking me if I will be doing a registry for my daughter's first birthday party. Like at Babies R Us, Target, and Walmart. Shouldnt I just let people pick what they want as gifts?

When your hair dresser works from home, do you still tip him/her?

When my hairdresser worked in a shop, I always tipped her, but now she does hair from home in her spare time, so she sets her own prices and doesn't have to pay anyone rent. Do I still tip her?

Satan hates God because of wanting to over power God. But knowing that God has power over all satan could not stand His light. The darkness can't under stand light. and yes we are saved from all that sin but, we still do it. We are not perfect, infact I'm not ethier but praying that we stay away from evil and loving one another will give us the chracter of Jesus. are flesh body likes to sin, for example you see a boy/girl your flesh amy want that person for sex but, the spirit man that God gives says no rebuke the lust for satan will tempt us with things its just are faith to turn away from it and avoid those sins.

I did it just *now*. I'm sure people at Marriage and Divorce could see my profile that says I'm same-sex married, but I'm still a bit upset at myself. I often refer to "my beloved" rather than "wife" at more "trivial" categories like NASCAR, as in "my beloved loves Kevin Harvick," just so I don't completely gum up the works with off-topic nonsense.

I asked whether we were the only ones in this situation--my girl cousin and her boy cousin are getting married soon. A lot of people we know ITRW think that's strange.

Now people there are assuming my wife's a guy, from my phrasing and avatar. I'm so embarrassed. I guess I'll have to clear it up in my answer.

Do you do that? Do you feel embarrassed, or think it's necesary to just "let people assume" sometimes?

I really wasn't a supporter of his. Our Church presented his lectures during Sunday School. I am shocked to hear that he was arrested for tax evasion and those other charges. I am not really shocked because I feel bad for him but shocked that a "Professing" man of God would blatantly disobey the laws of the land. Thanks for the info on my last question about Kent Hovind. I do learn alot from people with other beliefs than mine. I will make sure I stay away from Hovind's teachings in the future. What did Jesus say? I remember Jesus stating to obey the laws of the land and to render until Ceaser....LOL...I guess Hovind felt that didn't apply to him.

My question is...Should I tell my pastor and Sunday School director about Hovind's criminal activities? I am sure my pastor knows. He stays up with things like this. Should Hovind's lectures agaisnt evolution be shown in a Church setting?

I've visited a few websites, where it states one of the requirements of elders and deacons, is that they be above reproach according to 1 Timothy 3, where Paul says, "The overseer must be above reproach, self-controlled, respectable...he must have a good reputation with outsiders so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap."

Does this mean they must not be committing sins which others could bring against them? Or Other?

Grim Jack’s version of Isaiah 41

With apologies to those with a constructive faith in deity.

21 "Present your case," says the DR. JACK.
"Set forth your arguments," says GRIM JACK.

22 "Bring in your God to tell us
what is going to happen.
Tell us what the former things were,
so that we may consider them
and know their final outcome.
Or declare to us the things to come,

23 tell us what the future holds,
so we may know that you are gods.
Do something, whether good or bad,
so that we will be dismayed and filled with fear.

24 But your God is less than NOTHING
and ia utterly WORTHLESS;
he who chooses you is DELUSIONAL.

I must be living under a rock or something because I have no idea what "Pascal's Wager" is, although I do know that it is considered one of the most often repeated and trite subjects of discussion on this website.

It seems like Christians like to use it to attack atheists, but Pascal was a big proponent of the scientific method, a concept for which a lot of Christians don't hold much respect. So I hate to bring it up once again but could you kindly explain the basic premise of the argument? Thanks.

The point being in my first post that the things Christians believe are contradictory. God cannot see into the future at the misery that happens on the planet then decided to start it all anyway so he can fellowship with us and that not be selfish.

If I brought two children into the world knowing that one of them would murder the other but decided to do so anyway because I wanted children that would be very selfish of me. According to Christian “doctrine” this is exactly what God did.

How can it be loving to allow pain and suffering to happen when you could of prevented it. and If God is all powerful then he could of prevented it. It just does not make sense.

and Jesus would not have had to die for us if God had not decided to allow all this crap to happen in the first place, so in a way Jesus is just God doing CYA.

~At some point, by chance the right chemicals happened to float together at just the right moment to be struck by an electrial charge and become life. YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT??

~Somewhere two non-human mothers each gave birth to a human child. They were born at the same time and in the same place, one was male and one was female. These two new "humans" gave birth to the human race. YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT??

~One of the descendants of these first humans was born with a knowledge of right and wrong. No longer driven by instinct, this person suddenly was making decisions based on a morality for which there is no real explanation. YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT??

"The man is the head of the woman, as Christ is the head of the man." - The Bible
"Allah has made one of them [men] to excel the other [women]."

Not all Christians or Muslims believe the above. To those that do:

How do you reconcile following that with being a traitor to your gender's cause?

Especially in the US of A, which is backward enough not to have an Equal Pay law.
Or in Muslim communities, where beatings and coercion of women is common (and don't tell me it isn't).

All opinions welcome.
