Dear torque,

God does. We read in John 6:29, "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."

Please note that belief in God is the work of God! Many people attest to the existence of God but that does not make them saved or assure a place in heaven with God. It is simply mental assent.

When the Lord saves a person, he is given a new resurrected soul in which he loves God and wants to be obedient to Him. Unsaved man can obey some of God's commandments but he will fall away from that as soon as trouble comes along. Unsaved man is in rebellion to God and loves darkness rather than light-"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

Darkness can include "being religious." Some of the most moral people are religious-hindus, mormons, etc. But they are following a false god. Some of the nicest people I have met are catholic but they do not realize that they are sinning against God when they pray to Mary, or the rosary, or bow down or kiss statues. They are very religious but they are not saved--they still continue to practice sin and serve satan. Remember satan is the father of lies.

I believe there are too many things that we more likely acquired from a higher being that also has them than from a naturalistic universe in which they would otherwise be absent. For example, we can sense no intelligence nor consciousness in matter itself, yet we possess both. While we can't rule out that we always possessed them or that we acquired them from a naturalistic universe that has neither, is it not a more believable scenario that we obtained them from a being that can give both because it has both itself? The same could be argued, perhaps to a lesser extent, for free will and our senses of beauty and morality (although one could argue that both are merely illusory, I would think it more likely that they seem real because they are).

I believe in god not because of my religion, not because I grew up with that concept, not because my parents told me so and definitely not because of peer pressure. I believe in god simply because I chose to and frankly it is a choice which is not based on any reason. But I myself am not clear as to what extent I believe in god. However my admiration towards the following words come close to my belief in god.

When I Asked God for Strength,
He Gave Me Difficult Situations to Face !!!

When I Asked God for Brain & Brown,
He Gave Me Puzzles in Life to Solve !!!

When I Asked God for Happiness,
He Showed Me Some Unhappy People !!!

When I Asked God for Wealth,
He Showed Me How to Work Hard !!!

When I Asked God for Favors,
He Showed Me Opportunities to Work Hard !!!

When I Asked God for Peace,
He Showed Me How to Help Others !!!

God Gave Me Nothing I Wanted,
He Gave Me Everything I Needed !!!

The vastness and complexity of the world and of the universe we inhabit - the emotional intricacies of human beings, the diversity of species, the changing color of the sky, the purity of good, the corruptions of evil, my loved ones, my ancestry, the brilliance of the sun, the potential of tomorrow, the possibility of renewal and recovery, the ebb and flow - it extends far beyond pure science; it is something much more massive. There must be an another element, something above comprehension, and that is God.

I'm stuck. Not much.. Did GOD create himself? I'm not sure.. U do the math. A virgin Mary.. who was suppose to be immaculant from birth, but yet gave the ultimate by having child birth. Sounds so magical and wonderful don't it.. Like a Fairy tale.

I believe in God. Not necessarily the Catholic, Christian, Lutheran, or Methodist version. To me, God is the spirit of everyone combined; good or bad. God is EVERYONE!

God is goodness.
God is another name of fear.
We are afraid that if we do bad then we shall be punished. But Who shall punish us? That's where we created God, the spiritaul name of our fear.
But on the other hand, practically if we say that a lie cannot last for ever, then we can safely say that definetely God exists as this belief has lasted for centuries. So It has to be true.
God bless you.
