People are asking me if I will be doing a registry for my daughter's first birthday party. Like at Babies R Us, Target, and Walmart. Shouldnt I just let people pick what they want as gifts?

Thanks. I think it makes it sound like "bring gifts for my kid" not "Come celebrate our daughter turning one!"
Im out to make this a fun day for friends and family, not to get stuff.

I wouldn't do a registry for my daughter's first (or any) birthday. I think people expect registries for weddings or baby showers, but anything else is excessive and makes it seem like you're asking for presents. If any of my friends made a registry for their kids' birthdays, I'd definitely be talking about that for a long time. ("Mom, can you believe what ____ did???") I would just focus on throwing a fun party for your friends and family members, especially your daughter.

You're kidding, right? They have registries for the first birthday?? That's a new one.... Sheesh.

Let people pick what they want - if they ask for suggestions, give suggestions, but a registry is a little much....

I think registry is for life altering events - not birthdays. Being honest if you registered you would find that I woudl get you nothing at all for the baby.

I would just let them bring what they want just put her cloth and shoe size inside the invitation. And just go from there.
