We were dead before(nonexistence) so why are we afriad to die again, if we return to the same state we were in before we were born? i dont get it?

you weren't dead before, you were not in existence at all, there's a big difference, people are afraid to die because of the fear of ceasing to exist, your thoughts and feelings ceasing to exist, an end to everything you know, you won't wake up the next day like every other day, you'll be gone forever, just another moment in time like all the people in the past, and decades and centuries from now you'll be completely forgotten because all those who knew you will also be gone, your life, everything you did felt thought and encountered is insignificant to everyone else but you, you sum up your life, and when you die, your indulgence in life stops, life is perfect with its imperfections and its hard to let go of something like that

I wouldn't have thought anyone could really get fulfilment in this short life. And there are problems in this world, so for most people its no bed of roses.
So most people probably long for life everlasting, or at least life prolonged.
People who don't believe in God, probably just don't like the thought of the happiness they have experienced ending ... it makes life worthless I think.
For those with faith in God its still somewhat scary for most, since although you here NDE etc, even resurrections where people have seen things in heaven in the spirit, one can't be sure until one has gone for oneself.
I'm currently fearing not making enough of life here - from the christian view, we get rewarded if we have accomplished God's task for us here on Earth. It will be disappointing receiving a wooden spoon when it could have been a crown of honour and a "well done, good and faithful servant" (but we do believe all genuine believers in Christ will go to heaven).

From the moment your born, your already on the countdown to the death, why be afraid of something you can not avoid, just live life to max, and take in every moment??, i aint afraid, because i know even if i was afraid, im going to die anyway....

Well, imagine you're playing a very difficult computer game and are having a really good session, doing well, and having a great time - and your computer crashes and there's no 'save'. Bummer, huh?
I'm not afraid of death per se but I love my life and don't want it to be over yet. I'm having too much fun.

Fear of the unknown. I personally believe there is nothing after death, which is very liberating. It makes life on this earth extremely important.

peace be on you brother.. i think we must afraid of death all because.... we are accountable for our deeds in this world...
and after death.. we would be transferred to hell or heaven according to our deeds....
if we refuse the concept of God.. from our minds.. then no need to get afraid..
but when we say we have to come before our Lord.. after death and we be accountable for all our deeds in this world.. and those who do good deeds be successful in hereafter and if we do bad deeds we will fail in hereAfter..!! which is the real life.

i am afraid to die cause I don't like pain
and I don't like hospitals or blood or needles
get the point.........
