I did it just *now*. I'm sure people at Marriage and Divorce could see my profile that says I'm same-sex married, but I'm still a bit upset at myself. I often refer to "my beloved" rather than "wife" at more "trivial" categories like NASCAR, as in "my beloved loves Kevin Harvick," just so I don't completely gum up the works with off-topic nonsense.

I asked whether we were the only ones in this situation--my girl cousin and her boy cousin are getting married soon. A lot of people we know ITRW think that's strange.

Now people there are assuming my wife's a guy, from my phrasing and avatar. I'm so embarrassed. I guess I'll have to clear it up in my answer.

Do you do that? Do you feel embarrassed, or think it's necesary to just "let people assume" sometimes?

Nope, I'm out, the closet has been demolished. Way back in the dark ages when I first was out, I'd sneak back in sometimes. But I did feel wrong about doing that, so I stopped doing it.
Every person has to judge a situation and act accordingly. There are, unfortunately, times when being out and open is just dangerous.

i in my opinion have by no potential had a individual call me any names using my orientation. or maybe while my better half and that i are out with our childrens and that's obtrusive we are a gay couple I easily have nevertheless by no potential had that ensue to me. Now sure I do hate it as quickly as I see those issues going on to human beings or as quickly as I see the media perpetuating stereotypes of the gay community. L

Not embarrased, but depending on who I am with or where, I do not comment. although I am very outspoken on my feelings, sometimes it is best to be quiet.
