I did it just *now*. I'm sure people at Marriage and Divorce could see my profile that says I'm same-sex married, but I'm still a bit upset at myself. I often refer to "my beloved" rather than "wife" at more "trivial" categories like NASCAR, as in "my beloved loves Kevin Harvick," just so I don't completely gum up the works with off-topic nonsense.
I asked whether we were the only ones in this situation--my girl cousin and her boy cousin are getting married soon. A lot of people we know ITRW think that's strange.

Now people there are assuming my wife's a guy, from my phrasing and avatar. I'm so embarrassed. I guess I'll have to clear it up in my answer.
Do you do that? Do you feel embarrassed, or think it's necesary to just "let people assume" sometimes?
