I use to go to church when i was a child ( 2-10) i went all the time. I loved it. But for some reason i stopped going through my tweens and teens and now that i'm almost 25 with 2 children and a husband i really want to give them a chance to learn all about God. How do you go about finding and becomming a "member" of a church? How do you find out what religon is more your style?

You'll need to open the yellow pages and start attending different ones each Sunday. Look for ones that teach from the Bible (not their bible or canon). Look for ones that teach about Jesus Christ as your savior, and that being saved is a gift from God, not something earned through works. Ask if they have a pamplet that describes their mission statement for newcomers. Lastly, find one that has warm friendly people that greet you and make you feel welcomed. Most of all, make sure their mission statement and teachings are ones you can open up your own Bible and see that their statements and teachings follow what the Bible says. It's ok to question becuase they must be accountable to the Bible and God.
Best of luck and God Bless you.

I would try to find a church that is non-denominational. Which means they read, believe and practice the bible, but don't stick to one religion. You can drive around your neighborhood and look for a church to try out. You can ask friends where they go or if they know of a good church. God bless you for wanting God back in your life and your children's life. Good Luck! : )

For me, it was a woman that I really liked that finally got me back into a house of worship. I mean, I REALLY liked her... to the point I was willing to go to a place of worship just to be with her.

For you, well, you could always find out what churches your friends and neighbors attend and visit. There's no cover charge and you don't need to make reservations. Just find out what time service starts and walk right in. If you don't like the church, you can always go to another and repeat the process until you find one you like. Good luck to you, and I hope you find a church that suits your needs and instills a spirit of togetherness, as opposed to separateness towards others, in you and your family.

U just go. If you've been and u feel the need to go back, that is God calling you. The longer u stay away, the harder it is to go back. just do beacause when God puts the urge in u to go back that means he wants to meet u where u are. Forget the fact that u haven't been in a while. U know what u and ur family needs and u know God is the only one who can provide it. Just do it. I pray ur strength in the Lord. Jesus loves u.

Why not give your kids a fair chance in life.

Let them decide when they are 25 and old enough whether they want to go to church or not, and do not let them be indoctrinated now. When they are 25 they, like you, will be able to make sensible and informed decisions. Now they cannot.

You can be quite happy going to church on your own.

Just go to different churches and see what each of them is like. You will find the church that is right for you. Pray for God to lead you where he wants you to go. God bless you.

Set your alarm Sunday morning, take a nice shower, put on a nice dress, and get in your car and go.
