right now, behind your head, there is a little green elephant, you can not touch him much like a ghost, he can not be seen in reflections, and if you turn to see him, he moves exactly with your head always remaining behind, you can only see your green elephant no one elses, and no photos hes shy! but you can never really be sure he is there or not, can you disprove this though, intellectually? with out telling me this is Hogwash, its the same with god, we can't disprove him, but there is no evidence either

You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around, that's what it's all about. Or is it?

Quote, "The First Crusade was launched in 1095 with the battle cry "Deus Vult" (God wills it), a mandate to destroy infidels in the Holy Land. Gathering crusaders in Germany first fell upon "the infidel among us," Jews in the Rhine valley, thousands of whom were dragged from their homes or hiding places and hacked to death or burned alive. Then the religious legions plundered their way 2,000 miles to Jerusalem, where they killed virtually every inhabitant, "purifying" the symbolic city. Holy man Raymond of Aguilers wrote: 'In the temple of Solomon, one rode in blood up to the knees and even to the horses' bridles, by the just and marvelous judgment of God'."

Is believing in some thing because a book or a person tells you to really faith? Wouldn't asking questions and exporing things bring on true faith because you have found your OWN answers?

death bead ? If they don't die suddenly in a crash or some
other way and they have time to think about there life and
have a chance like the thief on the cross to repent. Would it be
stupid to ignore salvation even past there last breath? What
percentage do you think would rather risk going to hell?
Thanks for your take on this.

I live in a small town. Churches in this town do not approve of each other.ie Baptist v/s Church of Christ v/s Catholic v/s ..you get my drift. Now when all these Christians get to "Heaven" do they expect subdivisions? On a larger scale, Country v/s Country both believe in God but are killing each other here on Earth. How can that be explained? Thank you

I keep hearing Christians say that they can't wait for Jesus to come, etc. Of course, this is a huge part of their belief and I understand how, if you believe the Bible, you would be please to be going to heaven to hang out with Jesus, but my concern is that, as our educational system declines and our degree of religiosity rises, will this not be the impetus, at least potentially, for violence? I mean - and I know this is a slipery slope, but it's really just an example - what if we someho3w end up with a radical Christian General in the army or on the Joint Cheifs of Staff? Could he not, believing that the end would bring about the return of Jesus, launch nukes?

Okay... maybe that's a bit much. But didn't Charles Manson commit the most heinous crimes of the 20th century because of his interpretation of the Book of Revelations? How do we prevent the people who BELIEVE they are Christians from commiting heinous acts in order to bring about the apocalypse?

We'll put you in when you die, or earlier if you want. Once you get there, you are free to redesign yourself as one would re-write software. You don't have to be addicted to nicotine anymore. You are your own holodeck. You know everything that's on Wikipedia, and you know what needs editing. You will exist, learn, explore, and be with your loved ones forever (especially if they upload too). What are your thoughts?

I'm interested in the difference between atheist answers and theist answers, NOT whether you think this is possible. If you are allergic to hypotheticals, please avoid typing.

Be capable of doing it himself? I mean if his "word" was so infallable we would never ever have to have a single discussion about his existence. I mean you have not single one shred of proof that he is real or ever was, or any other god for that matter. Do you all forget that at one time in your life you were 100 percent certain that Santa was real? If people think God is interesting, the onus is on them to show that there is anything there to talk about. Otherwise they should just shut up about it. Agree? Disagree?
