Yea. As I said in response to that question, religion is just an evolutionary fluke. Scientists have been able to make some helmet thing that acts on the part of the brain involving spirituality, inducing a "religious experience". Someone could probably do some hypnosis-type thing or something to activate this part of the brain and tell them to kill someone one in some sublime way that seems like it could have been god. Also, that could just happen accidentally - people have a tendancy to find patterns, even if they don't really exist.

Not really. If you are basing sanity on the honest questing toward knowledge, then maybe it's you who should be in a mental ward.
There are no stupid questions, save for the one's that are never asked.
The question was asked about a persons faith in God, I was one of those who answered and I said, that I didn't honestly know if I would start to sacrifice someone unless I knew without a shadow of a doubt, that the stag would show up.

He forgot to post the rest of the story, it was a test and God stopped him by sending a angel. He never made someone kill their child.

Its a little scary. Don't we lock up schizophrenics for hearing a voice that tells them to kill people?
