Some teens at my school are atheists out of rebellion towards their parents, because when I ask them what that is they know absolutely nothing about it.

The original question:
Christians: Doesn't the first commandment prove the existence of "other gods"?

I got some really nasty answers from these Christians. I lowered the "g" for Gods simply out of respect for them but it seems they've started lumping EVERYTHING into that category, including cigarettes, "booze" and golden calfs.

So I'm reposting and opening the question to All Faiths.

The commandment basically says: Thou shalt have no other Gods before me. So even God himself acknowledges his brothers and sisters.

No, I'm not talking about man-made gods like tv, or video games, and I'm not talking about demons, idols or other "false gods". I'm talking about Gods, the living, breathing, Lords of the Universe. I'm talking about the Goddess, the Universal Mother, the Commanders of Sea, Storm, Cloud and Earth. I'm talking about all the Gods ever worshipped by Man but not man-made.

Please do not answer if you cannot respect the beliefs of others

When will the Catholic Church admit James and Jose were Jesus' brothers? If the bible says "brothers," shouldn't we accept the infallable word of God as true instead of making up stories about why it isn't? Almost all other theologians have thrown in the towel and admitted the virgin had other kids. When will the Catholic Church?

We broke up a year ago, he was with another girl for a while, he recently broke up with her. He started being more friendly. I still care for him but I am not sure if it is wise to invite him at my birthday parti. Everytime you turn around you are either deleted or your answers are deleted. Y/A put up guide lines I think they should follow the rules themselves. Intercultural/Interracial Dating ???

It's inconceivable for me to understand the issues that still surround intercultural relations?

I was listening to a group of men talk (I don't want to get reported so I want state what they were) and some of the things I heard was incredibly stupid.

Yahoo answers is filled with bashing of these relationships too -- hahaha, but they person puts the question in a form so it doesn't same like they are bashing intercultural/interracial dating.

Why do people still hold reserves? Is there something I'm not getting?

People talk about 'him' as if 'he' were a friend sitting next to them. Does anyone find it a little embarrassing? If you substituted that word 'god' for any other fictional character such as 'Superman' you'd be locked up pending physichiatric reports.

goes by the name preachers wife said" Mary is the earthly mother of Jesus. Not the mother of God." I thought Christians believed in the Holy Trinity. And if so then Jesus is God, remember, They are one. I could not believe she said that. And I still bet that if I ask her husband to pray for me he would not have a problem with that.

I had a dream that seemed so real! I can only remember one part of it. I was in a dark room, my room, and I went to go lay down...well, I started to feel this warmth that was starting to get hot and I heard a light hissing noise. I started to scream and I think I woke up...I think there was a figure in the window...and when I looked back at the window, it wasnt there...I kind of think I was astral projecting for my first time...but I dont know. I am a short order chef and in my restaurant there are signs all over that say " Employees must wash their hands." I feel that this is so pushy and over-the-top. I, for one, do not believe that I have to wash all the time. There are times when i go and I don't get pee all over my hand and if I go number 2 its not like I shove my whole hand up there. I feel that by taking the time to wash my hand is a waste of time that could be spent cooking some food. Who agrees?

I see a great deal about human free will.
Can God sin?

Sunni is a religion of Islam. Shiite is a religion of Islam. And Kurdish isn't.

Why don't they, instead, have a 1st amendment like the US has?
Then, also, the Christians wouldn't be left out.

Then, also consider Lebnon, where those in National leadership are of mixed faiths.

why is it that Jehovah's Witnesses cannot date outside of their religion? If we are not supposed to judge, that sure sounds like judgement to me. why cant Jehovah's Witnesses have friends outside of their religion? it seems like if JW's are soooooooo intent on getting the TRUTH out, that they should embrace all non-believers and show them the way and not judge and shun away.

my sister is 18 yrs. and she is a JW because she was raised that way because my dad and step-mom are devout JW's and they DO NOT want my sister hanging out with non- JW's or having a non-JW boyfriend. as you can imagine, that is very difficult for her. my sister is a great kid. she doesnt get into trouble and she just graduated high school and she was honored in the newspaper for getting a nursing scholarship. her only stress is the fact that she is in love with her boyfriend of 4 yrs. (she has been sneaking), and now that my parents know, they are telling her she has to get out of their house or give him up
