When my brother started to think Santa Clause wasn't real my Dad got really creative...

First with his digital camera he took a picture of our fireplace. Then he looked on line for a suitable picture of Santa and edited it into the picture. But my dad wanted to make sure my brother was completely convinced it was a real photograph and not an edited one. So my he took a picture of the computer screen with a Polaroid camera. We all know you can't fake a Polaroid! Wink, wink. (It took a while to get one without a glare but finally he got a good Polaroid picture, you couldn't even tell it wasn't taken in real life.)

He didn't stop there either. He then took a boot and tied it to a broom. He used the broom to push the boot down in the snow on our porch roof right by my brothers bedroom window. We told my brother Santa had looked though his window to make sure he was really asleep.

My Little brother is now thoroughly convinced of Santa's existence and has his Polaroid picture of Santa taped to the wall.

I think it was a cute way to keep him believing, I think when I have kids I'll try that trick too...

Peace out.

I still believe. I believe that Santa is about giving and expecting nothing in return. If kids get suspicious then you explain that the Santa's in the mall are people working for the "real" Santa (and who that boils down to for me is Jesus). It's not about the man in the red suit, it's about reaching out to others, even if they don't appreciate it.

In my heart I try and believe he's real. haha. When a kid does suspect something do what my parents did get one of the neighbors to dress up as Santa and walk past one of the windows and make sure your kid is watching. But be sure to make sure they have a hiding place your neighbor. It really worked my parents did it to me. But now I'm older and don't believe as much.

i believe in the spirit of santa...giving to others. in my humble opinion this spirit can last all year long, (even though Christmas time is such a special and magical time of year). when my kids were old enough to figure it out , i simply told them the truth, found a little book that told of different beliefs from around the world and they were fascinated by the stories. :)

When I caught my mom playing tooth fairy and exchanging my tooth for money, I realized that Santa and the Easter Bunny were also bogus.

I never believed in Santa, but you just tell kids "If you don't believe, he won't bring you any presents."

Then, they either believe, or pretend to for the presents.

I taught both of my daughters about the REAL Saint Nicholas; and will probably do the same for my granddaughter (when her mother is ready, of course!) Of course, I also taught them about the REAL reason for the Christmas season! JESUS!
