I am sure it is true .... however to get to that point usully requires practise, and that ~ I think ~ is the purpose of religion: it is schooling, so one may finally put aside all efforts to attaining a state of grace... an automatic state of grace is given, but you can earn it also ...

That would make it a paradox.

True belief is a total lack of religion, would be a sounder statement.

Relgion is a way and a means. Rituals, events, duties. You can't have a religion that lacks those things, it wouldn't be a religion, but a belief system.

A religion requires you to get on your needs, bow and pray to the East 5 times a day

A belief system is up to you to decide what to do and when. You pray when and where you need to. There is no ritual behind it.

I suppose you could look at it in many different ways. The way I see it is: The meaning of religion has changed over the years. Often, It's not even about faith anymore, it's about culture and rituals that don't mean a thing without faith. It's about judging others instead of looking at yourself. it's about legalism. What God really wants is for people to develop a personal friendship with him, to read his Word, to follow his guidance. These things are much more important than going to church. So in that sense true religion (faith) is the total lack of religion as we know it today.

Organized religion is not the true way to follow god.

It does make a bit of sense, considered all the child molestation and that humans are acting as middle men for a god that is suppose to be everywhere.

Yet you need to go to church to talk to him? Nonsense. That never made sense to me.

Religion isn't in four walls. That's just for a sense of community with people who think like you. There is nothing wrong with either as long as you understand what they both really are.

True, I dont need to belong to any religion to believe. The true religion is a personal relationship between God and myself, not listening to what any human being exactly like me says it is.

I understand and agree with the "thought" behind the statement.

The brother of Jesus, James, described religion this way: "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world".

Religion is more that belief.. it is belief in word and deed.

False. The bible tells us that pure religion is this: Taking care of widows and orphans.
