Ehh, I'm a goth and technically would stare at another Goth because we look like out of the scene. Kind of fun to see the stunned looks actually.
It's cool that you're being yourself so don't mind all those unless you too feel that you're not meant to be goth or something. Awesome that you skateboard! I used to do that but my dad stopped me cause' he's afraid I would end up scaring myself way to badly. (I'm prone to scars...alot of them cause' I get injured easily)
Anyway, don't bother about those looks. I get shove sometimes but...then again, who doesn't?

Because people fear or mock what they don't understand. I've been a goth since i was 13, i'm now 23 and still a goth. I love the style, the culture, and everything in between. Just like people discriminate towards people of color or with disabilities, they will discriminate towards you because of your choice of clothing. Your not hurting anyone or hurting yourself by what you wear. You should stand tall, and be who you are and not let anyone tell you otherwise. F*CK CONFORMITY.

I am 35 (too old) and think you are SO COOL.
At my high school there were some early Goths and one was a black girl.
I STILL am looking for the shoes she wore.
Do what you do and just be you and ignore the idiots.
You might even say to them staring from time to time...this is a trend and I am a good person, but you don't have to qualify who you are.

i <3 goth girls... so hot...
but a great many of them dress like that simply FOR the attention and people get turned off by that attitude. That's probably why you get stares, because people are expecting you to be a moody attention whore.
But on the other hand, I think it's hot... so keep up the good work :)

You have to admit that your choice in style and clothing is extremely different from the norm -- and something that varies that much from the norm does scare people. Also, goth appears so dark -- almost scary.
My son went through a goth stage so I got over being freaked out by it. He and his friends looked different, but they were just great kids underneath it all. Of course they got treated harshly, too. It's sad, I agree. But if your choice is to be goth, you have to be prepared to deal with the crap.
You'll learn to be stronger. Hang tough!

Funny because I wear all black (no, I'm not goth) and no one stares at me walking down the sidewalk. People fear what they don't know, plain and simple. If you look different or act different they just don't know what to do. It's ignorance and it's not your problem so don't even worry about it.

NEON GOTH: between the Gothic persuasion that wears rather of black, neon or brilliant colorings extra or a lot less as a educate of sarcasm. human beings choose human beings throughout. that's component of existence, unhappy yet authentic. human beings might want to fairly concentration on their strengths and accomplishments rather of ways they are dressed. component of that's component of your personality. human beings fairly shouldn't bash you for a way you gown creatively, or artistically, or the way you sense at that second. in case you want being goth then so be it. even as my son is 16 i do not care if he clothing in darkish and has a Mohawk and has piercings, I propose inspite of. Hair grows. i do not care if he needs his hair red and black and pink. it would want to be extra durable for him to locate paintings, yet i might want to by no ability discourage his own type. except, he has a fetish for prime heels and garments, then i might want to address it. i replaced into an outcast besides. I had many pals, yet no longer actual pals. i replaced into pals with all and multiple with the objective to speak. all and multiple is frightened of 'goth' or punk or some thing like that because they do no longer comprehend what to anticipate from them. even although goth and punk are human beings similar to them, yet gown otherwise, that's all. human beings fairly should not be quick to guage others before they comprehend. thanks hon. basically be your self. that's all. you aren't from now on devil. you note those that call you that, do not realize, they don't look open minded and extremely closed minded human beings. they are of their own acceptable little international with out any oustide stimulations.

I don't want to be harsh here, because dressing goth is not a big deal. But you do have to realize that it comes out of a desire to set yourself apart. When you set yourself apart, you draw attention. It's to be expected, and it's a choice you made.
