I have noticed that some of the believers of several religions (not just Christianity, but others as well) state that their religions aren't like all the others, because they are not really religions, but "ways of life" and so on. However, is it not the case that - whether you agree with or believe in a certain religion or not - every religion can qualify as a way of life? If a person truly follows the tenants of their religion, then that implies that the way they live their life will change based on the beliefs they have adopted.

I think that for a religion to be a "way of life" is more dependent on whether or not a person is simply paying lip service to a religion, or is actually trying to follow it. What do you all say?

profess to be Christians jump in there with ridicule? This is something expected from Atheists and can be easily overlooked as they do not have the Holy Spirit guiding them but, the other supposed "Christians", why do you do it when you know it is not kind?

Personally, I think Harry Potter is dumb, but if someone enjoys it, who am I to judge? Why is it that many Christians take issue with these books/movies? It's just stupid fun, without any basis in reality.

I do not want to come across as though I am criticizing anyones beliefs,mocking you or being detrimental. I have not made up my mind as to whether I believe in any religion - I always respect other peoples beliefs. It is what makes you who you are. However, I would very much like to know whether, if you believe in God, how old do you believe the Earth is? I am of the understanding that there is evidence which suggests Ancient Eqyptians and Incas etc were present on Earth before the time God created the Earth (correct me if I am wrong). It is very hard deciding whether I believe in religion as so many things are presented to me as fact, though I understand fact as something which could be proven? As you can see I'm confused,please help. Thanks!!

with such fevor is because they want the freedom from a system of morality that comes with a belief in God. Simply, it interferes with their sexual freedom.
If there isnt a just God to judge the actions of men, isn't it easier for man to do as he pleases?
We should remember the old saying ; If you teach a child he is only an animal, don't complain when he behaves like one.
Can we not lay part of the blame fro rampant immorality and crime on society's prevalent values and beliefs-which stem from, to a great extent, evolution theory?
And can this perspective have something to do with the immorality rampant in so many schools and universities where God is banned from the classroom and evolution theory is taught as fact?

Originally, dinosaurs must have been harmless--designed to delight man as pets and benefit the world, just like all the other animals. When first created, all dinosaurs ate only plants and fruits. Did you catch that? Again, Christianity shows that science is for idiots. As the Bible says, all animals that were first created were peaceful and never fought another. God originally designed sharp teeth to rip and chew plants, NOT flesh. They ran around and were friendly to humans, just like on Barney and Friends, in fact, That probably happened!

Seriously, will you notice time passing, will you be able to talk with dead friends, how will you find them, what will you talk about, will you be as you were on earth, or will you be perfect. How old will you be if you die after years of dementia will you be sane in heaven, will you be self aware, or have you no idea at all, but trust it will be great.

Not that you say well black (african americans) were born in the USA. And Africans are born in .............. Africa (generally). But if the only difernce in being labled african and african american is where your born thennnn .. Why do Africans and african americans look nothing alike ..people may say africans are darker due to the climate but There facial feautures are just differnt and there hair is courser they just look way differnt I dont under stand why black americans and black brits looook WAYYYYYYYY differnt from Africans.. For example even a dark dark dark African american still dosent look African I dont get it ...

I am a Christian! I wonder why so mant Atheists are rude to Christians and why so many Christians are rude to Atheist! To Christians: I know we dont agree with what they think and we may even think they are stubborn but where's that Christ-like attitude that we should be showing didnt Jesus say if someone slaps your cheek let him slap your other cheek and if someone takes you cloak let him take your tunic as well? To Atheist: I know you guys think VERY realisticly and seriously but just because your Christian does that make you stupid? There have been MANY GREAT Scientific minds who was Christian as well! Saying that Christians all Christians are stupid contradicts what you think because that isnt a realistic way of thinking! Just because I say all Atheists believe in evolution does that make it true? Or if I say all Christians wear crosses does that make that true? How about saying all castles have moats or that every desert doesnt have water? So how about we start debating peacefully

Please help i know a man who is in desperate need. He has 4 young children and he needs to find a shelter or some kind of transitional housing a.s.a.p. He will be homeless in a matter of days. He works as well as attends parenting classes and on top of that he cares for his children. He currently resides in Orange county california but will relocate back to Los Angeles if necessary. I am helping him out he doesnt have time because of work to look and he doesnt want to lose his job. I only know of shelters for battered women and other womens shelters for women and children but none for men and their children. So please if you know of a shelter for him and his kids please let me know. And like i said he is based in O.C and doesnt really want to go back to L.A. because of the life he left behind there.

Well, I'm in school, and one of my very good friends is a gay boy, and at lunch, these boys sometimes come up to our table and harass him by calling him "a disgusting homo" or "fag". Believe me, of course I've told the guidance counselors about it, but they never did anything, and my best friend and I went and told the teachers who are in charge of lunch about it, and they told the principal, but then the boys denied it and didn't get in trouble at all. They don't do it as often, but still occasionally. It really disturbs me, and it seems like I've tried everything. Is there anything else I can do?

I'm studying Evolutionary Biology and Genetics, and I recently took a rhetoric class that was essentially a debate over the validity of evolution. Several interesting points were brought to my attention, but I still am unclear on exactly why so many people in America do not accept this theory. I am not trying to attack anyone's beliefs here, I am just trying to understand both sides of the debate. I would appreciate it if you would explain why you either do or do not "believe" in evolution. Thanks!
