I am a Christian! I wonder why so mant Atheists are rude to Christians and why so many Christians are rude to Atheist! To Christians: I know we dont agree with what they think and we may even think they are stubborn but where's that Christ-like attitude that we should be showing didnt Jesus say if someone slaps your cheek let him slap your other cheek and if someone takes you cloak let him take your tunic as well? To Atheist: I know you guys think VERY realisticly and seriously but just because your Christian does that make you stupid? There have been MANY GREAT Scientific minds who was Christian as well! Saying that Christians all Christians are stupid contradicts what you think because that isnt a realistic way of thinking! Just because I say all Atheists believe in evolution does that make it true? Or if I say all Christians wear crosses does that make that true? How about saying all castles have moats or that every desert doesnt have water? So how about we start debating peacefully

Tht is so true but yet we can't tell everyone how they should feel, i totally agree we should respect each other yet this is a crazy world but i suggest that we (as people) should just go on (i know Christians are going to think that i'm crazy but it's tru)

In real life most Atheist aren't rude to religious people. I don't know if I can say the same about a lot of Christians. We just don't wanna have anyone's religion shoved down our throat. But I agree with you, I'm all about tolerance.

Whenever you have two groups of people who have differing beliefs, there will always be people in both groups who are very childish and do stupid things in the name of their beliefs.
I knew of a man who was hounded by people calling him because his phone number ended with 6666. People were calling him and making threats.
I knew of a situation where someone went and superglued the locks on a church on a saturday night so that the people of the church could not get in the next day.
Both of these are examples of people doing stupid things because of their beliefs. However, they do not represent all the people with the beliefs. I do not believe that all atheists or christians to have similiar characteristics. They are both diverse groups. They just both have individuals who are pretty childish.

You are right, there is a lot of rudeness here. I try very hard to treat every individual with respect, no matter what their dumb a** beliefs are. (Ok! I was just kidding! Did I make you laugh???) Seriously, I do respect everyone's right to their beliefs and I try to show that in my answers. Sometimes I do like to kid around, but I do not aim those questions or answers at individuals. I have known many intelligent and wonderful people who are religious.

You have to admit, we Christians are generally not represented by great minds here and many of the atheists come here just to make fun of the most extreme examples of our faith.

Actually, were' supposed to be happy when Athiest persecute us.

I'd relax a bit and not worry too much about this. The battles seem to be a forum thing, and not representative of real life. In all my 43 years I have yet to meet anyone who behaves like we do in this forum. The anonymity of the Internet allows us to safely be at our worst behavior.
