My family will be hosting a girl from France this summer. I guess she's not actually an exchange student because we're just hosting her and I'm staying here. ANYWAYS, what is the best way to welcome her into our family and not make it feel awkward? I know of course things will be a little slow at first, but what can we do to ease the transition? What are some "dos and don'ts" of hosting? I just really want her to have a good time, and all of us too. Thanks!

Don't you hate it when white women who date black men try to act as stereotypically black as possible... and they're like basically shouting 'OMG I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE LOVE ME AND ACCEPT ME BECAUSE I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE! AND MY BOYFRIEND IS BLACK TOO!!!" I mean nothing wrong with interracial dating, I'm white, boyfriend's black, doesn't mean I have to basically SCREAM it to the entire world. Just be your friggin self.

I know "I" in German is "ich", in French is "Je", in Spanish is "Yo". But I don't know "Eo" belong to which language. Who can tell me?

If you don't know what am I talking about, please read this first:

Just curious, but do you ever feel uncomfortable going out with your mate? Do you get stares or strange looks? I've gotten stares and smiles from all races but sometimes it feels very uncomfortable. I get scared sometimes that we'll get attacked by some fanatic racial purist...lol I know! paranoid! But does anyone know what I'm talking about? Relate?

i don't even know her last name, and for some reason i.........like her. i usually don't like royalty because they are utterly useless but whenever i see a picture of diana i feel some connection to her, like i am not getting the full story of who she really was. i look at queen elizabeth II and i see nothing. i look at charles and i see nothing. but when i look at diana......she seems to invoke something than people around her didn't know about. beyond royalty, who was princess diana? was she truly a "princess" or another stupid royal? i would choose the former not the latter. am i right about diana? should i learn more about her?

I don't get it, ok i understand steriotypes and that they are sometimes right, well i don't think there right but people exadurate it too much so it seems very insulting to a group of people. ok black people are drug dealers, they know how to dance, there women have shapely bodies etc. Ok drug dealing, im not going to lie, black people in the US have more gangs and stuff, but its not because there black, people. its because of where they grew up. If you had to grow up in a place really poor becuase you didn't have anywhere to go,because people judged u by your skin, also the slang, lets see... they were shipped from africa people, they had to learn the english language and if they didn't the were punished, and having an african accent and learning engish is gonna come out different, so they mis pronounced words, and basically it stuck over the ages and became habit and apart of their culture. So please people before you judge people with certain steriotypes, know there past please.

I was recently w/a group of women--all are 30 somethings (I'm nearly 40) and they all speak w/their mom daily or every other day. I only speak w/my mother every two weeks or so. (We live 1000 miles apart and have for 20 years). They all describe their relationship as "close"--mine: not particularly close, but NOT estranged.

I love my mother dearly (and I know she loves me) BUT we are NOT close and have never really been. We view the world and almost everything in it, differently.

Are YOU close to your mother? (I guess I pray my daughter and I fare better. :)

I didn't realize, until today, that I am not as humble as I thought I was. I have a job I absolutely hate, but need for now. I have been slacking my butt off and I know dang well I have. Well, today it caught up with me and one of my contractors got upset (rightfully so). I was always taught to take responsibility for my actions, and while I was on the phone with her I did. I was very professional about it. After she got off the phone, however, I was so incredibly pissed at her for being pissed at me! I was so mad I left work, went home and drank a shot of Jack! What the heck is that about! Have you ever felt this way?

if you had chance to work's for the white Canadian, you should know better most of them are not normals, like if they ask you do job for them and after you did the right job they never tell you thank you ....but they are complain , and complaining, why. Well, she lives with her family. I've only met the mom once-she just graduated from High School. I do want to make a good impression. Any tips or advice on things I should be aware of?...Father's day is this Sunday and they have been kind of enough to let me stay until Monday-so I'll be there for Father's days. So, I'm sure family stuff is going to happen-how do I accomodate myself to not feel like out of place or like an intruder?.I'm very excited. It's been over a year since I last saw her.

Ok, so I know you all have heard about the immigration debate and homeland security by now. I know you're probably about as fed up as I am about it. You hear "that side" talking about how the weak border is a liability to terrorism and that their not *racist* but, bottom line, they are. The unspoken fear is that Mexicans are taking over and that, pretty soon, there will be more of them than anyone and that the white majority will become a minority. I don't know why, but that scares some white people so much that they twitch. it's enough to make her want to move out of the country! AND according to the biggoted comments that followed, it was all about wanting to protect the white race! Proud to be white? Good! Want to see Mexican's deported because they're not? Racist! If you are against immigration, fine. But if race comes into the equation AT ALL it IS racist. You don't have to be a hatred spewing Nazi to be a racist.
