I just thank God for the path I'm on, God will direct me to whereever it is I'm supposed to go and be.

I continue to be a part of my religion because of the experiences I've had and the fact that my religion provides me with insight and the freedom to interpret these experiences for myself. We have no book, no dogma and little to no doctrine, but a heap of tradition.
And keep in mind that it is these experiences that led me to my religion, not the other way around.
If I had not had the experiences that I have, I am not ashamed to say that I would probably an agnostic or an Atheist. However, if I had never seen the ocean, I also might not believe in vast bodies of water.

The faith that I was raised in is really big on the whole "ask the lord, and it will be revealed to you" thing. I did just that many times and I felt nothing.
Sorry. I tried and it didn't work. There is no "one true faith."
Peace

When I question my faith and pray about it I receive a peace that passes all understanding and I take a deep breath and am glad to be a child of God.

Don't ask God for a special revelation until you've read the ones He's already given in His Word. God never changes.

Many years ago, I asked God to teach me the truth. I prayed and asked God to teach me..God opened my eyes and took me through the pages of the Bible, showed me how Jesus fullfilled prophecy of old, how salvation is a gift (not by works)..how we are kept by His grace and how much God loves everyone and wants everyone to come to repentance and faith in Him.

I have always known God
we have walked together for many years
I know him and don't have to ask at this late date
it would be like asking your wife after 50 years if she loved you

I've asked God and Jesus about it plenty, especially in the last few years. No matter where I go, how many 'rules' I might break, one thing has been very clear to me. There is a God. No doubt in my mind there.

"christains" believe based on the NEW TESTAMENT....not based on seeing or the words.....the bible is just a "tool"....kinda like "how to"......it is a persons individual experience of how they came to know GOD......its not something that you can explain so much......but it is through "faith" that it lives on..........no one can "make" you believe....only a "revelation" from the holy spirit can.......

Why is this question always asked? I don't know one Christian who believes because someone "told them to". Each believer I know has a personal relationship with Jesus that is unique, just to them, in how they came to know Him.
I have studied the bible for ten years, that is how I came to believe it's the truth. I've never paid so much attention to anything in my life. My faith is a reasoned one.
