I dont have a problem with dating but marriage would be an issue. not because of the race or skin color. more because of teh culture and customs. Im hispanic and say we got married to a white girl. what would we play at the wedding? we like cumbias and rock en espanol, little things like that would become and issue.

I am married to a woman of the same race as I am. Were I single I might consider a relationship and possible marriage with a person of a different race, but would not necessarily seek that. I am a non-Hispanic caucasian, and have been married twice to non-Hispanic caucasians.
I have dated Hspanic women but the relationships have never developed into anything serious. I don't consider that interracial, by the way, but some other people do.

What exactly is an interracial marriage? As far as life goes in 2007, there isn't a pure race of any kind any more. If it makes that big a difference, then why are there races to begin with. Were they created for people to argue about or maybe for an idle mind to stress over? And what can we do to change what already exists? Life's to short to sweat the small stuff.

I am white with German, Spanish, Irish-Scottish, Welsh and Pirate blood in me and am married to a Saudi Arab who is also part Sudanese from his grandmother. There is nothing wrong with interracial marriages. I don't think that being in an interracial marriage is going to ruin a person's bloodline at all. I think it is a good thing and doesn't matter as long as both people love each other.

I don't think any thing of interracial marriages they are pretty much the same as any other marriage. But I guess some people probably do get grief about marrying or dating out side of their race.

you are speaking of color i presume?
i think they are awesome and the more, the better.... to mix up our world and create less prejudice, i hope! :-) <---- ok that is my idealistic answer.
a more careful, realistic answer is: if someone is thinking of entering into an interracial marriage, they need to seriously count the cost. they will face rejection/prejudice, and their children will as well. also, in the mixing of races there can be a possible loss of some of the culture that each person brings to the relationship.
however i really think that the final answer is:
* Love Rules!!!!! *
and, with God, all things are possible. Love triumphs! <3

This is 2007, not 1957. I know that in some places it's still considered an issue, sometimes even more than with gay marriage and gay and lesbian couples. (And thank God I don't live in any of them!) But the old bigots who kept the old prejudices going are all just about dead, so hopefully before I go, I will see this become a complete non-issue at last.

I'm getting married on 6/22 to a man who is vietnamese and german. I'm black. So, obviously I am in favor of interracial marriages. We also have a beautiful daughter.
Our families are very supportive of us and have embraced the both of us from day one.
We're both very lucky to have families and friends who aren't so shallow they would focus on our differences in color. They recognize that we are much in love and the best of friends and they wish us nothing but the best.

Don't care but it is a lot to think about. It is hard enough marry someone with another religion, different financial situations, different political views etc etc etc. Different races often have very different cultures. It is a challenge and a decision to be made on each individual case. I say find love where you can.

Why, I don't think of it at all. Why should I? I live in the Northeast in the suburbs of a large major city.....everybody marries everybody around here - and nobody cares. Nor do they care what religion you are - or aren't.
It seems to be that only the people who live in Podunk or Happy Valley worry about this stuff.

Acceptance of interracial marriage is LONG overdue. They certainly seem to make beautiful children - perhaps the kids get the best of all worlds? :-)
