Just curious, but do you ever feel uncomfortable going out with your mate? Do you get stares or strange looks? I've gotten stares and smiles from all races but sometimes it feels very uncomfortable. I get scared sometimes that we'll get attacked by some fanatic racial purist...lol I know! paranoid! But does anyone know what I'm talking about? Relate?
Thanks!

Don't pay attention to it. You have to stare back at the world and think, I'm with someone I care about, you don't have to care about us, live with us, or know us!
I'm a white female and my fiance is a black male, we've been together for 5 years and have 2 kids together.
The ONLY time that anything bothers me is when someone disrespects my children. When we go out we don't even think about what other people might be saying or thinking so it doesn't bother us.

I know EXACTLY what your talking about, while most people are fine with it ( im in australia) im white aussie and engaged and have 2 kdis and one on the way to a vietnamese man, i find most of the flack or dirty looks or dagers i prefer to call them come from asian females especially and mainly the older ones prehaps more traditional, the older men just smile a lot LOL
im not sure if ever felt scared but sometimes it can be incredibly agriating on so many levels i guess rmoes o because i acpet everthing and everyone , i guess u cant change some people

I'm in an interraciall relationship and I do get some odd looks from time to time. But it's been 10 years now and I've gotten used to it.

Lol, being attacked by fanatics is pretty unlikely! Chill!

Most of my relationships were with women of other races. I didn't really care what anyone thought, but around here (SF bay area) there are kind of a lot so it was never really a problem. The only person who ever had to comment was a black woman (I'm black, my then gf was asian), once.

I'm not in an interracial relationship, but my mother is asian and my father is Native American and African American. All my life people have cooed over how beautiful my complexion and hair are... so screw the racist. Mix babies are the best!!! Hehe... They just can see the future of a mixed relationship and are all green with envy.

you are gonna always get the looks but sometimes you can feel people are judging you when you are really judging yourself. its normal to feel self conscience that way but it goes away when you just want to say you dont give a f what other people think you're in love now me i dated my sisters husbands brotherand ive always been comfortable except this one time we were in the mall (me and my brother n law) with his two kids and my daughter his daughter is 9 and his son is 4 and my child is 7 the whole time i was thinking these people in here think this is my husband and i must of cheated because the middle child is all black but i laughed about it later

i have been in an interracial marriage for 15 yrs and we have 3 beautiful children. i have never felt paranoid, the only problem that i have is every year we have to fill out paperwork for the kids they always want you to pick a race. i never do and they always mark the paper work as "refused to pick race"....

I dont feel uncomfortable except when its directed at my childrens as though they are "different"......this is 2007 people need to get a life......there really isnt a "pure race" anyways......multi-cultural is where its at. I will say that I have had black women "mad" that I am with a "black" man even though he is jamacian.

Example: " there goes one less of ours taken by a white one again"

Yes I do, kind of. My grandaughter is of a mixed race.I will be totally honest with you. At first I was afraid that people would judge me when I took her places but that child has shown me how to love the right way. She is 7 and adorable and I would fight tooth and nail if anyone were to make a derogatory remark to her. But we have only received love and compliments (to her, she's beautiful) and complete acceptance.
