Once you've developed enough wealth that you don't have to work, then what? I've always felt that it is important to dedicate that spare time to some social cause-- feeding the hungry, providing schooling to those without, creating jobs, etc.

What cause is important enough to you that you would dedicate your life's work to it if you never had to worry about money again? What makes it so important to you?

I'm new to this but there seems to be alot of animosity toward christians. I think it is a waste of time to argue points about a bible you have no interest in whatsoever

If you wouldn't mind - please explain (if possible) why you feel the way you do about the name "Jezebel". Thank you!

or anyone else that cares to answer.

My husband came home from work today, and said in passing, I love coming home. Our house is so full of peace.

I believe as a Christian wife, I am called to pray for peace and together with my husband create a place away from the bustle of the world. I took this as a great compliment from him, that we have acheived that.

My question is, with so many on here talking about being a submissive wife and all the debate of the writings of Paul, isn't that truly what he is saying?

Make a home together that you can find peace in?

btw, I do have a full time job as well as the home. We manage our time together, as well as our home.

The rate is very high among God's people, so when are we going to stand on the promises of God and walk in the fact that God hates divorces? Some allow the least thing to cause a separation instead of allowing the POWER of GOD to work a MIRACLE in our lives.

This is Jesus speaking about Himself:

John 5:31 If I testify about myself, my testimony is not valid.

John 8:14 Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid.

I ask this because so many people were taken aback by the idea of my sucking her toes while at the beach. Perhaps I was wrong in having done that act - I actually do wish to be considerate though.

I don't get it. Christ befriended tax collectors and prostitutes--he rejected NO ONE. He urged everyone to help the poor. There was nothing "First Testament" about Christ, he was the UPGRADE--the word of God directly from God rather than the wishes of God as interpreted and written down by men. So why do today's American Christians ally themselves with the Republicans, who believe helping the poor somehow encourages them to stay poor? (Oh yeah, living on welfare is the high life, let me tell you, anyone would stay with that forever.) Why are we still condemning gays when Christ never condemned them? And lastly, why are liberals, who follow Christ's teachings of compassion, considered Godless? It's clear I have a strong opinion, but I would love a real, intelligent explanation for this. Christ was way cooler and far more forgiving and gentle than this. (He would never say we should deport all the impoverished Mexicans, screw them, it's not their country.) What gives?
