Nothing special. Not like they treat them any differently! I liked Danny and Oswald on the last season. But it's not like I root exclusively for the gay team. Personally liked Charla and Mirna more on the All-Stars.

I haven't been watching the show lately, but I remember one season in which there had been a gay couple who got eliminated rather early in the race. My memory's hazy, but I don't recall finding anything particularly degrading in the representation of the couple; I do remember that they showed the couple holding hands as they walked away (and perhaps a hug, too), but nothing more, which makes me wonder if CBS may have feared provoking a controversy.
All and all, it just seems like Reality TV, for reasons of its own (probably ratings), has gotten into the habit of including a gay token. Make of it what you will.

Love the show, and I think the second season when Chip and Reichen won the race, it showed that a gay couple can compete with the other straight couples and win. I think the show does a good job with all the couples.
