um whoever you heard that from was on crack or something, because that isn't even close to anything true! i've meet so many missionaries that don't even want to come home because they love missionary work so much. And i have never once heard of someone killing themselves on or after their mission. that is just ridiculous! why would they?!

At any given time there are about 60,000 missionaries world wide. It's big news when one of them dies. I've never heard of a suicide, however that might not be as highly publicized.
As for the "shortly thereafter"....no idea. If it's a suicide and he's not a missionary, it's not reported as a missionary committing suicide, but rather "a 21 year old male killed himself....."
So I couldn't say that it's never happened, but I've never heard of it happening either.

I have not heard of any during their mission. I have heard of several afterwards. I think this is an issue for young people of all faiths. The Senator from Oregon lost his son to suicide while he was attending college. He wrote a book on the subject.

If it is true, it is kept hush, hush, liek if a soldier kills himself in Iraq, that is called a death by an IED (explosive) not by the fact that he killed himself. There is probably some excuse, like he was killed by being in the wrong place at the wrong time (liek a drive by shooting). I was engaged to a missionary that didn't finish his mission. After these missionaries go thru the temple and see what the sacred/secret squirll temple ios really like and then go an a mission trip and are taugh the sneaky tactics of how to convert members, some may commit suicide, but it is kept quite.

If it's true, the number who do is infinitesimal. Most people who commit suicide are mentally ill and the screening process for missionaries is supposed to make sure that anyone with any mental illness is not sent on a mission unless and until s/he is fully cured.
Mr. Peepers, again, you A$$/U/ME a lot. Where is your documentation, your PROOF, of ANY of this garbage you post?

Just to let you know...Utah maybe have LOTS of Mormons but that doesn't mean that the ones killing themselfs are returned missionaries. I have never heard about this. I also hope that it will NEVER happen.

Some people have historically killed themselves in all situations.
There is no preponderance of missionaries killing themselves on or after their missions.
