because people are naturally scared of what they don't understand and are familiar with. this probably evolved because in hunter gather sort of times, unfamiliarity (With anything,not just other people) probably got you killed.

It is more important to focus on conflicts in Chechnya and Azerbaijan which involve horrible atrocities than it is to contemplate the past. I do not support Bush's policies on Iraq, Somalia, Iran and Afghanistan. He is anti-Islamic and anti-Arab. He is a racist. I am not worried about some grand and horrible thing that the Arabs did to Blacks, that Black Africans did to Black Americans, that the Ottomans did to Caucasian tribes in Southwest Asia, etc. Doesn't make it better. The Coliseum in Rome was built by slaves. Let's worry about real and not past ancient injustices by a now nonexistent civilization.
