Humans created computers and cars, do we really want them to worship us? It would seem that if god needed our worship, then his self-esteem is low. Is he not god? Why would he need to feel anything, let alone, loved and worshiped by one tiny and insignificant species in this vast universe.

Mind you, I know that you believe your God decided which are sins. And that's okay, I respect that.

Do you also respect that to people who don't believe your book is valid, sin is not even a concept? The woman who had an abortion, the couple that got divorced, the old man who begs for euthanasia, the homosexual...to you they are all sinners. And they have to listen to comments like 'we hate the sin, but we love the sinner'.

What makes you think that a person who is first pointed out in a very judgmental manner as being a 'sinner', even wants to be loved by somebody who first points them out as being a 'sinner' ?

Believers and non-believers have reached opposite conclusions on the same issue with equal conviction. I find that fascinating and perplexing. Personally, I am a non-believer and don't really understand how people can honestly believe in God(s). And there are believers who don't understand how I can't believe. What is that people to be so far apart on the same issue? What is it about the way believers think that non-believers lack, or vice-versa? It has to be complex than just faith or a lack thereof.

I know that the US is the most prosperous place and has excellent medical/job resources but it doesn't seem to be the best place to grow up. There is increasing corruption in the culture.

What is a country or region that you know of that is closest to being "free from sin" so to speak?

I'm thinking I'd have my kids born in US, leave to that near-paradise, and then have them return to US when they decide to return.

Sin leads to unhappiness and I want them to be happy during their lives.

First you go to purgatory then there is some sort of Boolean operator that determines wheteher you go to heaven or hell. It's like the flow chart to a computer program.

I read the following sentence from a Christian: "THIS WORLD SUCKS."

I'm an atheistic agnostic student of Buddhism, and I hold the opposite opinion.

I wonder, is this determined by our spiritual perspectives?

So here's my question:

ON A SCALE OF 1-TO-10, where "1" means the world SUCKS and "10" means the world is GREAT, WHERE DOES YOUR OPINION LIE?

Also, for comparison purposes, please include your faith tradition.

I posted a recent one on here about the general view of Australians by the British in U.K. Many said that they thought Australians were criminal type people. What is the general view of the people who went to 13 colonies in America and what about Canada and South Africa?

cheer me up! I am really having a bad day. I'll go first:

Had latch replaced for the Beetle trunk. After grocery shopping, discovered the latch will not release despite hearing the release operate. (The trunk can only be opened by the driver's door release since there is no working lock on the trunk lid.) Before, it was almost impossible to get to shut properly.

I locked myself out of my office today while my key ring was seperated.

Repair person cannot find why my hot tub isn't working. In attempting to drain it tonight before the really cold weather hits, I accidently pulled the tubing out of the little pump that I bought to help remove the water. So I had to take the thing apart and put it back together.

The cat knocked my Palm Treo into my melting ice cream . . . I am letting the sync port dry, but who knows how much damage this could be.

Tonight, I washed and dried my work supplied pager with the laundry. This is a first. Ouch.

If there is no such biblical basis, then sola scriptura is a fallacy - an effort at begging the question - or worse, unbiblical in and by itself.

I just finished it and it was amazing! I was wondering if any Christians have read it. Bart Teaches at Chapel Hill in North Carolina and he graduated from Princeton as well as 2 Evangelical Colleges previously, Moody Bible institute as well as wheaton college. He is now an Atheist after he researched the origins of what we know of the bible today. He is one of the leading biblical scholars in the world. After reading his book it made me realize that anyone who thinks the bible is the 100 percent true word of God is sadly mistaken and by taken away the bible there is No basis of Christianity. Just a little side note...Bart like many Atheists didn't start out trying to "Debunk" Christianity but through his in depth research and questioning he came to realize the truth. Have Any Christians Read this book?

(I know this isn't the right section to post this question, but I did anyways because there seems to be more poeple on here than anywhere else. Plus, the replies are interesting.)

I think its absolutely disgusting that he gets this much money every seven days. (I don't think he's worth that much money! not even two cents!) He's soccar skills aren't great at all (I've seen soccar geniouses in FIFA and he's N O T H I N G compared to them!) It's ridiculous that one individual out of 3 bellion people in the world is making this much money, whereas childern upon childern are plauged with harrowing proverty and diseases, who are dieing each second around the world because they're deprived from a paper substance called money. Is this justice? Does it sicken you to know that you are capable of saving millions of childerns around the world with that amount of money but only ONE person is entitled to it, whereas that individual doesn't need one sherd of it? This sickens me to the stomach.

Do you think if some one could tell they would report us for cheating? Have you ever cribbed off of someone in your home to answer a question / If so who and what kind of question?

Who thought of the word wicked when they first heard of it or saw it on the internet? I did and avoided it until I realized it was relatively benign.
