My first love broke my heart.
Ask me more questions and don't be shy.

I'm trying to finish a project for school about dialects throughout the US. What I'm asking everyone is what are some of the most significant features of the CT dialect.

For Instance, New Yorkers are commonly known for their silent R's...New Yohk

One doesn't even have to be morally opposed to sexualities other than heterosexuality to believe that sexual orientation is a conscious choice. . .
I see this belief in commentary that runs the gamut from "I will support her even if she chooses that lifestyle," to vitriolic rhetoric that claims homosexuality is a wicked choice whose practitioners are hellbound. I believe otherwise. Not that I believe there should even be a need to explain the "aetiology" of homosexuality - but the consensus amongst the scientific community seems to be that genetics, if not the mono-causal factor, is the dominant one. Going further, even if it ISN'T genetic, can you imagine someone choosing a sexual orientation the way we might choose kung pao over curry? I certainly cannot. If you can, please explain.

Before anyone accuses me of non-response to explanation,I have to point out that the "add details" function seems not to be working at the moment. If it is,I will be responsive to thoughtful dissent.

Sometimes they are the complete opposite.

According to God, the homosexual will end up in hell. According to laws of my country, discrimination based on sexual preference is not allowed, and a guy like Fred Phelps with his 'God hates fags' sign will end up in jail.

And I can make a long list of other examples here. I don't feel like discussing this particular example, the example is to show the point and was the first thing that came to mind.

I was just wondering, and being genuinly interested here: As a Christian or Muslim, isn't it confusing to live in a world where a lot of laws simply contradict God's laws?

And as a non-Christian or non-Muslim, isn't it annoying to fully live according to the laws of your country, and still be pointed out as a sinner by somebody else's God?

My teacher told us that American males are always under some sort of social pressure. I have to find out what it is and write about it but I can't find it anywhere. Any ideas?

One thing I've learned is that time has no depth. My entire past feels like yesterday. So an eternity in Hell will not get any worse over time. The present is all you feel. The years don't add up. I mean, if you can't feel the past or the future what does it matter? Take for instance, senile people. They can be happy but they don't have memories so nothing changes. A thousands years of suffering might as well be ten years of suffering if there is no change.

Ok, so there's a girl in one of my classes who kept glancing at me on the first day. I sat in the row behind her and I just kept seeing in the corner of my eye that she occasionally looked back at me. I locked eyes with her once, and was kind of intrigued from then on. My problem is, now we kinda sit a few rows away from each other, but still in the same area. She sits with this guy, probably a friend, and I sit with a guy friend also. How should I meet her without seeming stalker-ish? Also I'm not out yet so I can't say anything to my friend who I sit with. Yesterday I sat in the row in front of her, and again I could see in the corner of my eye that she would glance at me every once in a while. I dunno, there might be something there. How should I meet her? I'd prefer if other girls answer if you've been in this situation. Thanks!

What is up with all of the stupid, interracial sex and marriage, and stereotype questions?
I get so tired of hearing all these questions about interracial dating. Should it matter who we decide to date or fall in love with? I also get tired of white or non-black women insulting black women. I am a white woman with a ton of beautiful black friends. They are all inshape, educated with no children and high classed. The black and the white guys I know want them, so ppl stop acting like black men don't like black women, or vice-versa. All it is, is an opportunity for people to cause division between the races.

To the people who say that black women are non-desirable. That is a got damn lie. At my university there are many black women with black men, hell us white girls can't even get a black guy where I live. They are all taken. People should stop trying to get attention. White women please stop being jealous over asian women. They did not do anything to you, so stop being jealous. People don't you think, life is to short to continue with the hate, lies and jealousies?

most religions has claimed jesus is coming soon(or armagadon whatever), but they are not sure about the date, if the earth is still here by 2057, it means jesus doesn't exist? or there will be another 'story' told by the church by that time?

On average
I really want to learn quite a few foreign languages. I know the best way to learn and retain is through immersion, but that might not be possible for a few languages I want to learn. Ultimately, I'd like to be fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, German, French, Japanese, Arabic and Dutch. How many years do you think it would take me to become fluent in these languages? I have a real knack for them, I learn syntax and pronunciation really fast and am better than friends who have taken college German for a year and a half after spending a couple weeks there not knowing any before.

I am thinking about becoming a Justice of the Peace. It is definitely something that I want to do, but I am a born-again Christian and I want to know if there is anything that I should know that may compromise my religious beliefs, because I do not want to become a JP if it will compromise my beliefs. Serious answers please. Thanks for all of your help.
