If you're just starting I would recommend 3 meditations.
1. Sit and think about your breath. Just feel it go in and out.
2. Walk and feel your footsteps, feel your gait, that's all.
3. Light a candle and watch the flame.

Your mind will wander, but just bring it back. Don't try to do anything special. If its the breathing meditation, just breathe. Don't try to control your breath, just note it.
