I don't see why, especially in wartime, but I think that gay people who want to should have the right. Gay people also need money for college, want career help, want to see the world, feel patriotic, etc.

Also, I think it's messed up to expect our soldiers to be brave in the face of an enemy, but scaredy-cats in the shower.

As of right now I am deployed. I am from philadelphia, and worked with many people of both sexual orientation. I am not a homosexual, but am not uncomfortable working side by side with them. However, I would NOT recommend that they join the military. There are a few reasons that I would not recommend it. The first reason is the fact that they would have to suppress there sexuality. This can not be healthy. Also there are many people that would not feel comfortable working with them if they knew that they were homosexual. The military is NOT homosexual friendly. Weather or not it should be... Well thats an entirely diffirent question. I wish you luck in your decision making, hope my answer was helpful!

When I was 14 and willingly dressed as a girl and be came my best friend Gary's secret girl friend for the next 3 years and gave him B.J.s 2 or 3 times a day 4 to 5 times a week that I was a girl on the inside. I would never and have never gone to bed with any man when I was dressed as a man. With that said. In my mind I am Bi as in a female lesbin. If you join the military Ist RULE DON"T TELL AND THEY WON"T ASK. Get it.

If you want to serve your country, most definitely. Several top brass have in recent years said that this is a good idea. Take for instance the fact that there are about 100 gay men who are fluent in Arabic, but who are not allowed to currently serve in the US military -- and more importantly overseas in Iraq -- because they are openly gay.

the only problem I might have with this is if gays were used as cannon fodder the way that black soldiers were used in WWII.

I also firmly support a draft that includes women once they turn 18.

I happen to think no one should go into the military but that's simply a personal opinion.

I don't believe your sexuality should dictate what you do in life. If you want to be in the military, then go for it. And be safe.

Sure, that don't mean you have to go shout it to the entire military! Homosexuals are actually very well organized and tend to be extremely intelligent, so they may make good soldiers. who knows

if you want to serve, go for it. Do not tell them at the start you are gay. The military is considering removing the don't ask don't tell policy to be more open to gays
