My teacher told us that American males are always under some sort of social pressure. I have to find out what it is and write about it but I can't find it anywhere. Any ideas?

Your teacher is full of crap. I don't get under pressure. I put people under pressure, especially egocentric, opinionated teachers. Pressure is a state of mind. Tell your teacher to take a break.

How strange that your teacher would say a thing like that and not give you any idea what he/she meant! After all, ALL males, everywhere, and all females too, are "always under some sort of social pressure." I don't think it's fair to ask you students to come up with a written composition under such vague guidelines.
Have you considered dropping a bowling ball on your teacher's toes? I mean by accident, of course. That would demonstrate "social pressure" in a way he/she couldn't possibly miss.
Best of luck!

I'd argue that everyone is under some sort of social pressure. Be sure to add that in your paper somehow.

But, specifically males --- one new social pressure that is facing males is the pressure to be desirable to women. Now that women aren't as financially dependent on men as they were decades before, men have to make themselves more desirable to women on all levels (instead of just the bread-winner/money maker). If women are financially independent, they can choose a man that they really are attracted to. Men have to work on being attractive more now than ever in order to obtain a spouse. Women aren't desperate and are becoming quite picky! Men have to step up their game.

Males are under pressure to be macho. They are also under pressure to succeed and make money, since they are required to be providers. I'm not being sexist, women have total equal right to succeed in whatever they want, but they at least have the choice. Men have a social pressure to be good providers with no options.

my best guess, coming from a middle school full of hormonal "boys"... i would have to say stupidity. here's why:
1. they are so effected by peer pressure to be "cool" and all that crap.
2. because of the peer pressure, they can't think for themselves.
3. not being able to think for themselves leads them to make stupid decisions like do drugs or have sex at an early age.
OOH!!! another one is to have sex. all i hear in the hallways is sex sex sex. all some guys want is to get laid.

no offense to guys who actually have brains. i'm not talking about you guys. i'm just talking about the guys who follow the crowd.

American men are not allowed to be men anymore. They have to be politically correct and in touch with feelings and all that other b.s.
