I'm trying to finish a project for school about dialects throughout the US. What I'm asking everyone is what are some of the most significant features of the CT dialect.

For Instance, New Yorkers are commonly known for their silent R's...New Yohk

That is not a dialect, it's accent! A dialect is a sub-language that may not be understood by someone speaking the mother language.

"In popular usage, the word dialect is often used to refer to a lesser-known language, especially one that is unwritten or not standardized, or for which one does not know the name or linguistic relationship. This usage is illustrated by the phrase "in the local Indian dialect". This usage of the word dialect is often taken as pejorative by the speakers of the languages referred to in that way."

I grew up in CT and it's hard to remember anything significant.
My source has the CT results for great dialect survey. If you haven't seen it already, check it out. I grew up in CT and said pretty much everything that got the most votes in CT.

One thing I remember is that I used to call the little sprinkles you get on ice cream 'shots'. My mom grew up in CT and called them that too. Most of my friends called them 'jimmies'. We also used the word 'wicked' all the time, like 'that's wicked stupid'.
