I know that the US is the most prosperous place and has excellent medical/job resources but it doesn't seem to be the best place to grow up. There is increasing corruption in the culture.

What is a country or region that you know of that is closest to being "free from sin" so to speak?

I'm thinking I'd have my kids born in US, leave to that near-paradise, and then have them return to US when they decide to return.

Sin leads to unhappiness and I want them to be happy during their lives.

No question about it. It is Canada. And the bet place in Canada (ok, one of the best places) is Ottawa.
Budha went to the jungles to be away from corrupted life. But families cannot maintain that kind of life style. Yes, it is a good idea to find a place where there will be more safety and decency and less temptations for sins. However, there is no such place on earth which is absolutely free from temptations. That is where your responsibility as parents comes into the equation. No matter where you are living you have to make sure that you teach your children the good values by the books but better by examples. I am a layman Muslim so I do not remember if it is a verse in the Quran or the sayings of Muhammad ( and I am putting it in my own words) that if you take one step toward God (and teaching your kid is part of it), then God will help bring you ten steps closer to the good outcome. There is no spare time to start this process of imparting good values to your children no matter where you live at this time. may Allah find you a better place to make it easy for you. You need this attention towards your children at least to compensate for the six to eight hours they may spend in Public Schools atmosphere.

The US is by no means the most prosperous place in the world certainly not for the median income group, it also is well down the list in many quality of life indicators including infant mortality which should strike you as relevant.

Singapore should fit your bill.

No place, then, if you're looking for "free from sin." Unless you wanted to do the middle of nowhere in Utah, Wyoming, or Montana, where there are no people for miles and miles around.

Sin does not lead to unhappiness.

Being unhappy is a sin.

It's not always where you live it is how you live.
I love living in Australia and always call Australia home.
God Bless
