We become a society that out grows war, sickness, poverty and over population and we all live in peace. Can you honestly say that we wont look at the current religions as we look at pagan religions today in a futuristic society??

I was learning German and realized how impractical it might be living in the U.S. I've realized how much is translated into French here (because of our Canadian neighbors?) It seems more practical to learn French. Any opinions on the usefullness?

if so isnt there a more humane way of killing these animals? ive seen videos of chickens getting stepped on, sheep getting their necks slit where its halfway dangling, and cows that are turned upside down and necks slit while their trachea is pulled out. shouldnt we have a less painful way to kill the animals that we eat?

why did god apeer and speak to so may poeple from the past, then all of a sudden he has just stopped , i am a cristian and go to mass on a regular basis all my life and he has never apeered to me or spoke to me .i am wondering what i am doing wrong for him not to speek to me , or does he just tell things to the pope and other people just high up in the church, and sorry i am a bad speller

I am a bisexual male from Texas (I know, it's hell). I have only dated girls in my life, however, and want the experience of dating a guy. Me and my gay girl friend want to know where we can pick up guys/chicks, respectively. We are cautious because we dont want to go somewhere thats a gay sex pick-up place or a club that has parties like the White Party (for those of you that don't know what that is, it's basically a bunch of cocaine and gay sex at certain clubs one day a year). Where should we go to find a gay bf/gf that doesn't participate in the above activities? I don't have much longer before I go off to college and I would like to date a guy before I graduate from high school, so please help asap. Thanks!

I wanted to know from people that really were because I've always heard people were and I wondered if it was true. I'm not trying to be rude or cruel but it's against my religion to be gay and it says it's wrong in the Bible and I know that not everyone here believes in God or the Bible and I don't have a problem with that and I'm not trying to criticize the way you live or your religion. I'm still waiting for a valid, literalist response.

I was told to read Leviscious and killing was otherwise justified to me, I even was told, by someone who obviously did not read a thing I had written, that it was not a perfect translation.

I repeat.

If your Bible is not a perfect translation, then it is flawed and the work of Men.

Is 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' an imperfect translation or is Capital Punishment in direct violation of the Commandments?

Quoting passages that validate killing under certian circumstances is only contradictory and further weakens your argument.

I mean think about it: You get ON a bus, but you get IN a car. You don't actually get on top of the bus, right? And when you watch something ON tv, its not sitting ON it, it's IN it. Same thing with the radio. I just find it a little strange. Why is this?

Is it chance that produces the result of a coin toss, or is it weight,velocity,time,and force of gravity? Is there a being named Chance? So that it exerts power? Does chance exert any power at all? If you have a chance meeting, that means it was unplanned not without cause, for although it was unplanned and unexpected, it still happened because it had a cause, only you were not aware of it . The cause was your friend being there and his reason for being there, and you were both there for various reasons or causes. The meeting was caused by these separate independent factors. So if I say I met my friend by chance, what am I really saying? Answer, that I ran into him unexpectedly. So if I say as some are in the habit of saying, the Universe was created by chance, what does that really mean? Am I saying the universe was created by unexpectedly? If Chance is a description then it is descriptive and not a person or a place or a thing. I ask is such a description the cause of anything?
