I wanted to know from people that really were because I've always heard people were and I wondered if it was true. I'm not trying to be rude or cruel but it's against my religion to be gay and it says it's wrong in the Bible and I know that not everyone here believes in God or the Bible and I don't have a problem with that and I'm not trying to criticize the way you live or your religion. But I just wanted to know if it's a choice or are you born gay.

Ask yourself this - if you weren't born gay or lesbian, then why would anyone choose it? You are marginalized, treated like second class citizens, discriminated against and in some countries stoned to death. It doesn't come with a lot of perks. This is not to say that I'm not happy being a lesbian or wish I was straight but, believe me, I've gone through a lot of crap that a straight woman my age would never even have to consider. Try crossing your arms. Now uncross them and recross them with the opposite arm on top. Feel uncomfortable? That's what it's like for a gay or lesbian person to try to be straight.

Human's are born sexual creatures. I think that sexuality is probably more or less set in stone the second we develop a super ego, which happens very early on. I will state that born or developed it is most definately NOT a choice.

it's not a choice to be gay...just like it's not your choice to have the skin color you have...or be the height that you are...it's something your born with...some people are born straight and others are born gay

The vast majority of us gay folk do feel that we were in fact born into a sexual minority . . .

Our real choice is to accept ourselves as God made us or to succumb to social disapproval and resulting self-hate.

Jesus himself commanded, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
