Leviticus 20:13

“If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death.”

The "Holy" Bible clearly incites its readers to commit murder..........and people ask me why I am an atheist.

Well if everyone followed every instruction or rules the Bible states than Men should NOT shave their beards, Women would have little rights, and OUR diets would be very restrictive.

I don't understand why homosexuality takes such a very big spotlight from the Bible when there are hundreds of rules that addressed in the Bible for whom many "Believers" refuse or forgot to live by.

Also was'nt it also a rule to "Love One Another", etc. Our Christian Extremists are NO better than those Extremists found in other Beliefs/Religions around the world.

Last, many other books were left out of the Bible. So maybe we have not seen the whole picture. The Bible is composed of many books found and a few "educated" scholars decided what was to be put into the King James Bible we commonly see today.

Ever hear of Sodom and Gomorrah? Nuff said. The Bible is very clear on homosexuality, I'm afraid. I am not giving a personal opinion one way or another, but the Bible CLEARLY forbids homosexuality as an aberration to God. I didn't write it, I only read it. And since you asked I am sharing it with you....

Hm. I don't ever see homosexuality in anything as a highlight, but if I ever came across reading it in the Bible, I believe it says that homosexuality is wrong. Though it says it is wrong, it also states to respect anyone within its boundaries.

Thats a thought. It says that we r gods creation and we are perfect and loved. But being homosexual means that u have a low level of testosterone, and your body cant produce this hormone, which makes a man lesser of a man. But if one is created this way, then it is not his fault is it? And yet the bible says it is against christianity to be gay. I dont understand either. The bible can be so contradicting sometimes.

The Bible doesn't give any pros for homosexuality. It does, however, give plenty of cons. Its described as changing the natural use of ones self, disgraceful, contrary to nature, loose conduct, working what is obscene, and those choosing such a lifestyle will "receive in themselves the full recompense which was due for their error."

Emily W - A parent will love their child regardless of what they do, that doesn't mean that they approve of the lifestyle the child chooses. For instance, if one of my sons were to choose a life of crime, I'd still love them, but I wouldn't shield them from the consequences of their actions. If they break the law and get caught, they'll have to sit in jail until someone else bails them out...I won't do it. Then they'll have to deal with other negative effects such as having a record follow them around throughout their life. With God, he loves each of us and since he created us with free will, we have the right to choose how we live our life. As a good parent, however, he hopes that we'll choose one that is in harmony with his will. That means if we choose a homosexual lifestyle which God does not approve of, he won't stop us from doing so, but we will have to suffer the consequences of our actions which may include getting AIDS, having to deal with adverse social issues, possibly losing our loved ones if they're opposed to such a lifestyle, and ultimately losing our good standing with God. Remember that in the Bible there are many scriptures that list traits of those who will not inherit God's kingdom. Included in those lists are murderers, thieves, adulterers, fornicators (which, by the way, would include homosexuality), drunkards, etc., etc., etc.

It says in Corinthians I believe, that homosexuality is a sin. It only has like one sentence about it, however, and is either immediately preceded or followed, I think, by paragraphs stating wives should be submissive to their husbands and should cover their faces and not speak in church. So if you want to believe all that, be my guest. I personally dont pick and choose and ignore the chapter altogether, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

There are no pros... it is considered an abomination for a man to sleep with another man or a woman to sleep with another woman.. It does not say that no activity is an abomination.. only when consummated does it become the hated thing.

The most often quoted arguments against homosexuality are in Leviticus. (18:22, I believe: "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination")

If you consider Leviticus authoritative, you also have to believe that those who shave are going to burn in hell. (19:27-28, I believe.)

Personally, I'm not planning on giving up shaving. (My not shaving? THAT would be a true abomination!)

Homosexuality is a sin. It is the same as any other sin. It is punishable by death. That's where the Lord Jesus comes in to take the punishment for us. You have to accept his sacrifice first, then he will start working on the sins in your life. sometimes we forget that Jesus told us that to love one another is the greatest of all commandments.
