Mel Gibson's father is one of those people who believes that the Holocaust was a hoax. That tells you something about the way that he was raised. And I also believe it was the alcohol talking. Which is not to say that he doesn't have anti-Semitic feelings - just that possibly he was trying to control them until he got so s*it faced. I think that a lot of us are raised with homophobic or racist or anti-Semitic views that we realize are wrong - we try to change ourselves for the better and stick them in the back of our heads with all the bad things. For example, people with Turret's Syndrome will often shout out racist words with profanity because those things are stored together in the 'bad' part of their brain. I had a friend who was raised in the south by a Klan family - she knew this was wrong and had actively worked against it. But she got drunk, got pulled over by a black cop and went off on a whole rant using the n-word. She was deeply ashamed afterwards. And I have to say that sometimes when I'm pissed off by someone of a different race sometimes the first thing that pops into my head is racist, even though I have friends of all races and abhor racism and am ashamed of myself for even thinking such things. First lessons are hard to shake. Don't get drunk or ugly things will come out.

I think Mel Gibson is a very creative person with an alcohol problem. He put everything he had into"Passion of the Christ"and it was a box office success, yet it was greatly criticized by the Jewish community as being bias and not factual. An insult to the Jews.I do not believe he hates Jewish people. In fact, why would he dedicate so much of his time ,money and heart, on a movie about the history of a famous Jewish prophet!I also know in Hollywood most of the big producers , directors, and big stars are Jewish.Mel Gibson and his beloved movie"Passion" was completely ignored by the Academy Awards that year!!!It was a very unique movie and deserved some recognition, but because of the religious controversy, especially from the Jewish community it was dissed!I am sure that made a drunk Mel Gibson resentful.

There are a lot of good Jewish people. There are a lot of bad ones too. You can't say that though or you are called anti-semetic. It's a double sided coin. He lives in Hollywood where Jewish discrimintion is rampant. But then again, if someone had tried to wipe out your whole race I suppose you would band together to make sure it never happens again. I see both sides because I've been married to one for a long time. As individuals, they are just like everyone else though. Some good, some bad. If he says he doesn't hate Jewish people then leave it at that. If people care, he will pay for it at the box office.

Because Mel Gibson is a kook. If it weren't for the execution of Christ he wouldn't be chilling in a mansion in Malibo wiping his *** with hundred dollar bills which are the profits from that terrible movie he made about that event.

Totally. Alcohol is the truth serum and I really think he meant what he said when he was drunk. He's mean, and I hate him. It's unfair and wrong to generalize for an entire group of people.

His upbringing made him believe that Jews are the people that murdered Christ (who was a jew).
