I am a bisexual male from Texas (I know, it's hell). I have only dated girls in my life, however, and want the experience of dating a guy. Me and my gay girl friend want to know where we can pick up guys/chicks, respectively. We are cautious because we dont want to go somewhere thats a gay sex pick-up place or a club that has parties like the White Party (for those of you that don't know what that is, it's basically a bunch of cocaine and gay sex at certain clubs one day a year). Where should we go to find a gay bf/gf that doesn't participate in the above activities? I don't have much longer before I go off to college and I would like to date a guy before I graduate from high school, so please help asap. Thanks!

sorry. I should have mentioned this earlier. I live in Highland park, which has to be one of the most conservative, gay-hating districts in the country. There arent many gay guys at our school, lol, and the ones I do know are either the White Party type, off to college, or dont search for guys outside the school

have you ever tried going to a gay church? there are churches in large cities called Metropolitan Community Church. also try coffee houses. they are big hangouts for gay people. and of course you can always try gay bars. but don't worry all gay bars are not just sex p/u's. there are all different kinds. go to one and if it is not your scene then ask the bartender if there is a bar in your city that would be more to your liking. most gay bars support each other and send business to each other. they understand that everybody has different tastes and they will recognize the fact that you are young and new to the bar scene. you don't even have to order alcohol. you order sodas or water and not feel funny about it. people do that all the time. but be sure you have at least $40.00 to go because sodas and water are still expensive in a bar. plus it will be a good place for you to dance and have a good time. just don't leave your drink laying around somewhere. someone might slip spmething into it.

Dude, you're in Dallas. I live in Muskogee, OK and went to a private, Christian high-school and I have never had trouble finding like-minded individuals. Of course, I am not a high-schooler anymore and I appreciate the restrictions on movement that school brings, but still - Dallas! Try away football games in the area - look for guys who are paying more attention to the people walking around than to the game, then give them the old eyeball. If they hit you back, go in for the kill. For guys and girls, try Denny's or Whataburger - ask the goth kids when the big night of the week is. Alternatively, try any coffeeshop on amature poetry mic night. Other than that, I would just try the West End and the Arts Districts downtown and use my imagination. Best of luck, although for serious luck you might as well wait for college, because everyone's looking then.

I would have to say to try online. Its kind of risky, but since gays are a minority its a good way to search. Most people don't come out until college at least I've noticed. If anything, you would more easily get a bf then. You can also just try to get gay friends in the area. Word travels quick in the community and often are friends together. It seems like either noone is gay around me or there are like 3 or 4. Good Luck!

If you're looking for a wholesome relationship, there are some genuine people online. For meeting people in real life, try your local community center or LGBT friendly church. If you have time, try getting involved in your local LGBT community. You never know, your bf might be the friend of a new friend you'll meet at that group.

Here are a couple links I found.

If you don't like gay bars, then you probably will have to look into online dating. I'm not into it, but a LOT of people are.
