Is it chance that produces the result of a coin toss, or is it weight, velocity, time, and force of gravity? Is there a being named Chance? So that it exerts power? Does chance exert any power at all? If you have a chance meeting, that means it was unplanned not without cause, for although it was unplanned and unexpected, it still happened because it had a cause, only you were not aware of it . The cause was your friend being there and his reason for being there, and you were both there for various reasons or causes. The meeting was caused by these separate independent factors. So if I say I met my friend by chance, what am I really saying? Answer, that I ran into him unexpectedly. So if I say as some are in the habit of saying, the Universe was created by chance, what does that really mean? Am I saying the universe was created by unexpectedly? If Chance is a description then it is descriptive and not a person or a place or a thing. I ask is such a description the cause of anything?

Chance is the noun used to describe equal probability between all the possible outcomes. If probability is not equal, then the weighted outcome has a "better chance" of occurring.

People who are interested in describing what cause led to the universe do not ever say it was chance or random. There are specific causes under investigation, but the answers are still unsettled. Chance is not among them, although Christian preachers tend to minimize science by putting the word "chance" into the mouths of scientists. No scientist would agree, however.

Chance is a very loose term, do you mean random or unplanned, as you seem to be using both throughout your rather long question.

Quantum physics as opposed to classical physics states that there are random events at the atomic level which means that we do not live in a deterministic universe, however that makes no difference at the macro level in which we live.

I think you are putting tooooo much thought into this. Careful... you could drive yourself mad pondering it. I'm about crazy from reading this. It's all in semantics. Everything begins from a cause set in motion... every cause set in motion has an effect... eventually. Effects ultimately create our destinies.

As you seem to be using the term here, it is primarily descriptive, not causative.

hmmm. i think you seem to be anthropomorphisizing chance (giving it human characteristics)

chance is the same as randomness. chance completely depends on the surroundings/situations.

is it chance that your god came into existence? or have you completely ruled out that possibility? was it chance that he happened to be bipedal?

before you go and try to use a concept of chance on someone elses belief i reccomend you apply it to yours first.
