how about this: it won't happen at all, since it's a silly cult myth.

He will appeal to all religious faiths, Christian and non Christian alike, he will appeal to those with no faith at all. He will have all the world's answers and claim to be a man of peace. He will also claim to unite all faiths together and not only appeal to the spiritual but the scientific world also.
Nobody will recognise him for what he is and who he is until the last 3 and a half years of his reign. When he erupts in his full glory, all hell will literally break loose. People will then have to decide either for him or Christ. There will be no middle ground.
This man, will also have the ability to peform miracles and super natural phenomena will occur around him, which will convince non believers of his supernatural power as well as his superior intellect, which will outdo anybody on this earth (but not God ;) ).
He will come as a man of peace and will be accepted by all. He will charm the entire world and everybody will be in his sway. I do not know how he will do it, but consider the fact the Devil is on his side and working through him. the devil is already well accsutomed on how to sway humans, he's the prince of this world and has been since the fall of man.
It will be the hardest time and the most severest test of faith, but those who endure to the end will be saved.
two thirds of the world will be wiped out after this terrible reign. One third will remain. Those still alive will envy the dead. But God will renew all things and the dead in Christ will rise again. The reprobate will be cast into the lake of fire.
All will be made new.

The bible says there are many anti christs. What denominations call the anti Christ the bible calls that man of sin, which is to be revealed, which resembles the Pope. The bible says the man os sin will be revealed with false sings, wonders and miracles. All so called miracles tody are false. They are false because a true miracle is when someone cuts off a hand and the miracle worker heals it right then and there. Or when a leg grows back. No miracle today is anywhere near what Jesus did.

The Bible says the Antichrist will decieve everyone and that if God does not intervene that he would even be able to decieve the very elect. Matt 24: 24-25

O: The obvious answer is the "anti-Christ" will suck-in people by performing magical wonders. Remember; Satan will empower this "anti-Christ" person to manipulate the people, as a whole. Even, intellectuals will be convinced and fall sway to this counterfeit ! "Violation notices" won't figure into the scheme of things. A genuine, converted Christian will see right through this ruse ! ( As of always, the masses will both, hate and persecute the real Christians [Jesus's folk] !!! )

1 John chapter 2 has some fascinating verses about the antichrist and antichrists and the fact that they've been around since the NT was being written.

There is no (will not be) AN "antichrist".
John 4:2-3 (New International Version)
Now This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
"Antichrist" has been around a long time.
You were perhaps asking about the "Beast"?
Revelation 16:2 (New International Version)
2The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.
The beast is a culture, a government, a civilization, a political entity.
Revelation 13:2-3 (New International Version)
The Beast out of the Sea
And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.
This passage has led to the common belief that a man will be killed, yet come to life. The Kennedy asasination was a popular landing place for this speculation. The "beast" is not a person. Beast is used in Old Testament prophecy to delineate governments and civilizations.
Perhaps this is who you mean:
2 Thessalonians 2:3 (King James Version)
3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Or this guy:
Matthew 24:15-22
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
The "son of perdition" or the "Abomination of desolation" is perhaps who you are asking about.
Revelation 13:11-18 (New King James Version)
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those[a] who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or[b] the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
Is this the one you refer to as the "Antichrist"? This "beast" is the "son of perdition", the abomination of desolation" The "666". If so, the answer is YES. He is referred to elsewhere as "deceiving the nations". He (or she) will be accepted as a saviour. The president of France was quoted about a decade back as looking for the one who would save the European economy even if he was "Satan himself" (George Bush has made similarly mis-thought statements, so you can't read too much into this, but the the idea is plain).
The one you refer to will be accepted as a Saviour. He (she) will be worshiped as the bringer of stability, peace, and safety.
1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 (New King James Version)
2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
Peace and safety. When was the last time we all felt that? No terrorist threat. No Iraq. No Hizbullah. No Iran. No Darfur. No North Korea with atomic bombs. Yeah, right.
Read Revelation, and see if Babylon doesn't look a lot like the USA. If this is where you live, be worried.
One will come who will mellow out the world, somehow. The answer to terrorism is George Orwell's state of constant surveillance, GPS on every person on the planet, microphone everywhere, video cameras, etc. But, there will be peace. Then, sudden destruction will come upon us all.
Here's hoping you are among the "elect".
God bless.

Well, if that really happens, it would make the most sense for him to act like a Christian. A preacher, actually. That would put him in the best position to rally people around him and get them on board with his cause.
