no matter what god or god's you believe in you have to admit that there were thousands more where those came from, i.e. your god is not the ONLY god to have ever been believed in. now then, if you are in an argument with someone over something and they change their side of the story 2,000 times, wouldn't it be safe to conclude that they were lying? if i ask you to guess the number of which i am thinking and you guess 2,000 times (and secretly you were right on the 24th guess, but i let you keep going), after all of this wouldn't you assume that there is no way of knowing my number? IF god exists there should be 1 record of god. period. not just similar accounts. similar accounts only prove POSSIBILITY, not necessity nor probability. just because we both have parents, doesn't mean both our parents are the same people. So the theist asks for PROOF that god is not real, in spite of the fact that the burden of proof is always on their shoulders, here i give it to you.

Here people go to the temple and talk to the monks and ask about their furure and they really believe what the monks tell them. Naturally they have to pay and the more they pay the better their furure will be.

I know very well how they do tell futrues that come true and I have mentioned it to some here but they don't believe me so now I keep quiet.

Fortune tellers are totaly lost if you won't talk to them and answer their questions. You that go are the ones that tell your own future.

here to educate and inform! I notice that a lot of criticism today against Catholicism was directed against praying to saints, to Mary, etc. I.e., not to Jesus. And people I guess interpreted this as meaning Catholics break one of God's commandments.

Anyway so that people know exactly what the Church says about this subject (and not what your minister, your atheist friend, or whatever says, below is the official Catholic Church policy on the veneration of saints, etc.

I think you might find it different to what some of your criticisms were. Mind you, I am only here to educate and inform!

Whether or not you attend a service or sing religious songs, is it trees and Santa and Presents, or religious nativity-based? My family has gotten away from the religious side, though it is still there with us. Your thoughts? NOT LOOKING FOR ADVICE ON HOW I SPEND THE HOLIDAY!!!! Just looking for other perspectives.

I think about it like this: Europeans came over to this prime real estate years ago, dispatched the native peoples, bought some slaves to do all of the manual labor and then proceeded to muck up the entire planet and deplete all of the resources.

I realize America is super fantastic b/c we have 800 brands of cereal and the freedom to act like complete and utter douchebags, but isn't that a spotty history? Can we ever rise above all of our misdeeds? Have we ever really been a moral authority?

I don't have a problem with proper intended usage of a cell phone, but 75% of cell phone usage these days is just rude, obnoxious and unnecessary. And no, it doesn't make you look cool but the total opposite. Big turn off.

My girlfriend's mother's friend's mother passed away earlier this week or last week.

I am not sure if I should go to the wake or not, but I think that since I never met this woman and there are 4 degrees of separation that I should not go.

Me - My girlfriend - Girlfriend's mother - Girlfriend's mother's friend - Girlfriend's mother's friend's mother passed away.

Doh...............please let me know what you think.

Just for the sake of argument, does it really matter? Yes, many wrong things are committed in the name of religion but does it outweigh the joy, hope and selfless acts that many people feel and do inspired by the word of God?
When someone feels at peace and hopefull after a prayer, although it isn't "evidence", it's still demonstrates a positive impact on one's life....True (or not), why should it matter to anyone else besides them?

i've been having chest pains on and off for a few years, right now im having slight but noticable pains on my left side where my heart is. usually it's in the middle. i asked a psychic who was right about everything else he said. he said in my past life, i was a black slave who got beaten up and hung to death and brough the pain into this life because i couldnt get over it etc., i also have pains in my throat when i feel hurt or betrayed. this explains a lot. but how do i deal with the physical pain? usually when i deal with racial ignorance/injustice either my throat feels slightly twisted and covered or my chest hurts a little. i went to the doctor for chest pains last year, and they couldnt find ANYTHING! they ran a lot of tests. do i just feel the pain and let it pass? how do i transmute it or something? im trying to "get over" the karmic pain i felt from my past life, but i dont know how. i just keep saying to myself that the human life is only an experience for the soul.

Well, seems like most people know that Christmas was originally a pagan holiday that the Roman Catholic church took and simply changed the names to Mary, Jesus, and etc to help convert the pagans. Thru the years it's become based off of Yule, Saturnalia, and Sol Invictus.

So if we all know that it's roots are pagan and that the origin of the holiday is not in Christ but simply about Him then wouldn't it be a dead work? Why would the Lord honor our actions if this is a man made tradition?
