I am black but occasionally I've been taken for other things like Polynesian, SE Asian, or Brazilian.

I was Mistaken for a East Indian or Pakistani woman, Brazillain, and Colombian. But i'm Black too.

I get Arabian or Middle Eastern All the time. And Im puerto Rican. Far From any of those! I usually correct people but I dont get insulted liked some people do.

Yes I have been mistaken for a different ethnicity, and yes I played along. It seemed pointless to correct them at the time.

Before doing my hair, I was mistaken for Korean or someone with a Japanese grandparent. I'm actually half Eastern Cherokee and half Irish.

I'm white, but people from South America always think I'm hespanic and when they see me (wherever I go) they just start speaking spanish to me. I can't play along, because I don't know any spanish:)
But I really don't know why they always mistaken me. I'm skinny, 5.8 tall, I have blonde hair and brown eyes (but I wear blue contacts very often). May be becuase me and my husband go to vacations all the time and I'm always a little tanned. I asked them "why would you think I'm comming from Mexico?" They say: "Because you look like mexican" :))))))))))

Its happened to me as well. I wasn't bothered by it at all. A lady thought I was Jewish (I think because of my first name, but I'm told my nose looks "Jewish" as well. Whatever that means).
I didn't bother correcting her because she seemed to be happy about the idea of meeting someone Jewish, so I just smiled and played along. I actually felt quite flattered by it!

im arab, some people look at me and say i look like the stereotypical arab girl (boobs and an asss , thin waist , long brown hair, big almond eyes, kind of fair skinned.) some people say i look hispanic, and one lady thought i was greek. i play along
