Can someone tell me why my neighbor loves to shoot off a gun? He points it toward the night sky and pulls the trigger multiple times, as though bullets never have to return to earth....I think there needs to be a IQ test for gun ownership....if you rank at village idiot or moron, they give you a squirt gun instead!!! Several neighbors have called the police on the jerk but they can't be everywhere....and he does this once or twice a week...any advice?

I have known and been best friends with Doug for the past three years. After a long wait, I am ready to move into one of his rooms in his two-bedroom apartment. He and I have gone through almost everything together, yet he is still clueless that I am homosexual. His father raised him to believe that it is a terrible, sinful thing and that people like us should be burned at the stake. He is a reasonable fellow and even said that he wouldn't kick a gay roommate out just for being gay, but might do so if he caught gay activities occuring in his apartment. I don't plan on bringing anyone to his apartment, but if I'm going to be sharing a living space with my best friend, might it not be a good idea to inform him of my sexuality? Or might it be too much of a shock which would be best to hide from him. After all, this is only a two or three month stay, and I can visit my boyfriend after work in the next town over. Please, impart unto me your divine wisdom!

Did it make you miss out on the chance to work on a neat project, or to get to know someone better who you later found out was an admirable human being? Did it keep you from getting answers to prayers as fast as you would have liked? Did it ever interfere with your ability to sleep through the night? I come from a chauvinistic family where males are more valued than females. It has been tolerable to a point, but as I grow older, it is sickening to see the ignorant, selfish values of my father manifesting themselves in my older brother. My efforts and the results have been frustrating and fatiguing. Any suggestions?

I will be 46 tomorrow and I look 10 years younger. I am proud of the way I look and I do not like it when people wink and say "So, you are 29 again"?
Hell No! I earned every laugh line and worry wrinkle and I still look good! Why would I want to claim "29"?
Why do people push the "29" on people that do not want it?

Last summer of 2005 I started to notice several black cats in the road in the mornings and several owls flying over my house at night then toward the end of July one night I was visited by my family and told my brother was killed that evening his car hydroplaned lately ever since this summer and since he died I had several dreams about him and strange and mysterious things like dvds falling by themselves the dog barking at something invisible that makes the hair on my arm prick up and sometimes the room just goes completely cold and freezing and I feel a invisible hand touching my back and one night I awoken to the front door that was bolted opening by itself and I hear weird tapping noises like knocking on the wall and objects at night and my name being called by a familiar voice and one occasion where his cell phone number showed on my caller id is it possible my brother is trying to reach me from out of the grave? or whatever spirit it is how do I see what they want?

First I would like to thank the Christians who answered my questions regarding the Devotional Bible I gave my sister for Christmas. She and her husband were very pleased with it.

I asked Christians on the R&S for a book review of this version because I am an atheist and though I have read the bible, I am unfamiliar with all the editions currently available.

My question for all of you is:

Have you ever given a gift that was out of your realm of belief completely but meant something spiritually to the recipient?

This is a question I have asked time and again and have never received acceptable answers. Also, I do not believe faith is a factor in answered prayers. I used to have MEGA faith and never was answered, even though people I loved were dying and had handicaps. Also, if the Bible is the Word of God, why are there so many contradictions. I have studied several translations thoroughly, for more than 35 years, and can no longer believe in it. I can no longer believe in the Christian God or in their religions, for there is so much hypocrisy and hatred spewing out of these religious people.
I now accept people for who they are, not what they do in the bedroom or what their skin color is, or what creed they follow. I am a more loving person being a "Pagan heathen" than when I was a Christian. The truth certainly did set me free.

Here are a couple reasons I get for asking, "Why african Americans dont work hard to better themselves in society" (check my profile)
1. Media Conspiracy- The media DOES NOT commit the crime, they just report it! They dont give the black guy a gun to rob and rape someone, there are solid stats to prove it.
2. Slavery - For crying out loud I haven't known any white man who owned a slave, do you? why do blacks feel the need to be compensated.
3. Poverty, lack of Help- This I find laughable, we hear of stories from immgrants, AFRICANS, MEXICANS, CHINESE who come to this country, from war torn countries, no parents, poor, who cant even speak english. They work real hard to have an education, job, a stable family, and a quality life. Help is everywhere, you just have to have the WILL to look for it.
Im sick and tired off all this complaining from African-Americans, frankly they are giving the AFRICANS a bad wrap in this country. We all need to pitch in to make his "america" work.
